i actually stood outside and studied a low-flying jet today behind my work.

Really doesn't do anything for me. Decent aroma but falls short on taste. Bit better than a macro lager, laughably tasteless compared to what is possible with the style.

i didn't think it was terrible or anything. i'd probably have it again. but admittedly i don't know what a good lager and a bad lager really are.

i also had one of the holiday porters from the sam adams gift thingy i received. it was better than i thought it would be. not the best, but i was pretty prepared to really dislike it.

Hop City in general just seems like a really half assed take on craft beer. All their stuff is "meh".



Try that if you can find it. Way better example of the style.

I like beers that surprise me.

Shipyard Blueberry Porter is the most recent one I can think of. I came into it thinking I'd hate it but by the end I didn't mind it. Ended up getting a couple more bottles at the time.

i like the sly fox beers i have tried.

however, the reasons i usually don't like christmas beers are ginger, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves. so that one may not be for me.

This was exceptional. So so so soooo good.



This was pretty good too. I'm not a huge fan of La Trappe's dubbel or tripel compared to other beers in the style but this is a good quad. I still like their dubbel and tripel don't get me wrong, but they're kind of average for the style in my opinion. Bit overrated. The quad deserves its praise though.

i do not like christmas beers. i can't think of one i've ever enjoyed. but this one is okay. i have a cold so maybe i just can't taste the terribleness, but i actually like it. i wouldn't go out of my way to buy it, but if you had some in your fridge i'd drink it.
