I truly haven't, and as such I've come to the conclusion that it's generally really bad.

So you haven't had it then. I had a mead from Sweden once, was golden nectar. Absolutely brilliant. Not thick, not cloying, just fragrant and something you shouldn't drink too much because the hangover is deadly.

Then again...I do like poop like Plum brandy...so

Yeah as are dopplebocks, schwarzbiers, and lots of other beers I like.

I was specifically referring to pale lagers though, the beers you typically think of when you say "lager". There are some that kind of go outside of the style and are still flavourful but that's kind of cheating lol.
