Heavy imperial stout from Denmark. I'm not a big expert on stouts, but I like it a little strong.

it's okay.

i just got back from a nice early (cst - crimson standard time) trip to the liquor store.

i'm running out of new things that i want to try and the stock rotates but a lot of it isn't anything i really seem into.

so i got three standards (sierra nevada porter and stout, and a troegs java head) and three "new" ones.

fullers london pride
harviestoun old engine oil black ale (which i think i had like 2 years ago)
wells sticky toffee pudding ale (why not?)

Yakima IPA and Headstock on cask? Not a bad event.

It's a shame Bellwoods brought their worst beer to that though (Viking Grave, it's bleh). They're probably the best brewery in Ontario at the moment and in a few years they'll be up there with the best in the country imo.

My highlight (not cask) was Beau's Haters Gonna Hate.
Apparently a missed recipe who turned out to be a gem.
Second place : their black IPA.

And I'm a big big big fan of all their branding.

river horse oatmeal milk stout


it's pretty good. better than that left hand milk stout and that southern tier one that i didn't really go for.

tasted and smelled like coffee for sure. sweet. carbonated. you couldn't taste the alcohol at all when it was cold but a little bit when it warmed up some. it's only 6.7 so i was good with it.

i'd drink it again but it isn't anything going on the spreadsheet or whatever.

it was another one with a cool animal though.
