i did a "pop in at pj's" last night and they had it.

no angry greg ryan sighting though.

i had 2. they even served it in this glass (which i thought about stealing).

An eisbock that tastes kind of like a Belgian strong ale mixed with a barrel aged barley wine on steroids. Really delicious stuff but you have to treat it like a bottle of wine. Dangerous stuff.

Would you recommend it? Not the biggest fan of barley wine (though the one I had was really oaky and I hate overtly oaky things).

If you don't like barley wines and you don't really like beers with heavy barrel influences I'd say there's a good chance that you won't like this one as much as I do. You might hate it lol.

Also if you haven't had huge beers like this it might be a bit shocking in how boozy it is. The alcohol is probably more obvious in Norseman than it is in Sweet 16 which is the highest ABV beer I've ever had.

It's not just a higher ABV Aventinus Eisbock. They don't even taste like they are the same style of beer.

obviously, this was not good.

i liked the vanilla smell and taste. but that was all. it's not a good beer.

new holland just has trouble making a bad beer. this was good. i had 2.

okay, now here's a 10% that i could drink.

we split the bottle between people because i had to drive in a bit so i didn't drink more than probably half of it. but it's a strong chocolate milk shake. twas enjoyable.
