every hot spice beer i've had has been meh

dont like chili beers or anything like that. dumb gimmick that i wish would go away.

I'm not sure I like the idea. Two things I love, sure. But then, I love dogs, I like sex... I don't put them together (no matter what my college roommates say).

The least offensive ones I've had basically just had a bit of heat on the finish that kind of made them taste like they were higher ABV beers than they really were. Pointless.

I recommend Ska Brewing's Autumnal Molé Stout.

I held the same opinion you do until a buddy of mine told me to check out Xocoveza by Stone, which was a limited release. Long story short I never got it but a Stone employee recommended the Ska Autumnal to me and it completely changed my opinion on chili beers and molé stouts.

Can't believe I haven't stumbled on to this thread yet considering what a huge beer fan I am.

Currently hitting up some of the Ommegang seasonals and man am I impressed.
