i did that for the first time in about 10 years recently and it was actually pretty good. i have no urge to do it again but i was surprised how enjoyable it was.

and some really good beer from brussels (forgot to get the name, it was 4.5% and yum, had a bit of a barnyard thing going on)

It's (frank)ing awesome, but sip of sunshine is better. Also a Vermont brew, it has made its way into Connecticut so I drink it quite often now.

Tell her good luck finding heady topper. It's even pretty rare in the state. No idea why those guys insist on brewing in a garage. People love it, just rent a (frank)ing building a brew more.

well the style is pretty heavy. really strong flavours and often the alcohol isn't well integrated which can turn people off. peche is one of the "smoother" ones out there though. it's well balanced in terms of dark fruit sweetness and coffee bitter and the alcohol is dangerously hidden.

Mostly because it's not like other doubles or imperials that just have one or two kinds of hops dumped in because they have a super high alpha. There are plenty of IPAs out there that I think you would enjoy.

That's fair. With like 6 months to a year of aging the coffee slides into the background a bit but I prefer it on nitro (fresh). If you ever see an older bottle being sold somewhere maybe you'd like it, I'm not sure though
