Update: I have tried the Lagunitas Waldo Special Ale

Smell has a strong apricot/citrus/pine hops.
It has a heavy taste if that makes any kind of sense. Tastes like it smells up front, bitter sweet taste in the end. It's not too alcoholy tasting given the 11.5%

Overall it's pretty good.

It's pretty good. A bit too much on the bitter side to be sessionable, but still. The aromas are great.

Pretty much tastes like a bud light lime with a slight sweetness at the end. Meh.

This is very exciting.

It's pretty good. A bit too much on the bitter side to be sessionable, but still. The aromas are great.

anyway, i got a six pack of the sierra nevada celebration ipa because i haven't had it (this year) and a six pack of something called firestone velvet merlin oatmeal stout.

okay, here it is (the groove, slightly transformed).

i've never liked this beer but every few christmases i try it. i am finding it much more enjoyable right now than i have in the past. it isn't a cinnamon and clove type of christmas beer so that's good.

the bitterness you'd expect. maybe my tastes have changed. i'd drink this again.

first things first, that is a very official looking label and i feel very official drinking this.

anything with a shield is probably too good for me.

it's black as shanika bradbury with only a little bit of light getting through at the very edges if you hold this up in front of a lamp.

it smells like a good stout and it tastes like a good stout. this is almost a chocolate beer if it weren't for the added taste of delicious coffee. it's actually a better chocolate beer than a lot of chocolate beers (i'm looking right at you brooklyn brewery, i'm not even trying to hide it).

there's a little punch of sweetness right in the middle that almost makes me think of a reese's peanut butter cup but it's not as sugary as that.

this is one of the better ones for sure.

it's a PM from a mod that i let just run off the screen without ever checking it.

they were having a meltdown at the time and it just burnt them up more that it stayed bolded on their sent screen. to this day i have no idea what it said. could have been more senseless rambling, an apology, or a suicide threat. in any event, totally worth being stuck with the blue bar.
