Cracked open a Unibroue Terrible this weekend that I had aging for about 4 years. Dark, fruity as (frank), very nice.

guys guys,
i made a move.

i decided to try to hit the small liquor store that's right by my house on the way home in hopes that they would at worst have something interesting and at best have the sixpoint bengali.

i walked in and was instantly disappointed remembering their sad little 6 door section for refrigerated craft beer. i figured i was screwed and it seemed like i was until i saw it.

not only did they have the sixpoint bengali but they had something else. something strange to my eyes. is this a different sixpoint beer that i haven't heard about? what in the world is sixpoint higher volume? oh sweet baby jesus, it's a variety pack.

not only does it have the crisp and the sweet action that i already know i love, but it has the bengali. but more importantly, it has RESIN. i'm not even sure i have ever mentioned the resin because i never saw a six pack of it so i figured it isn't around here and i'll never taste it.

so it's just one 12 pack, but i'm pretty excited and will definitely be reporting back soon.

alright. the bengali. it's an ale. grapefruit juice smell and grapefruit rind taste. piney. sweet.

this is my least favorite of the sixpoints but it's still really good. there's just something that i don't necessarily go for i guess. it's not refreshing like the others to me. more of a mouthfeel thing i think. it's almost creamy. i like a beer to be dryer at the end.

still a solid beer.

and the resin. it's an IIPA, whatever that is.

i'm not gonna lie, i knew going in that this was a beast for me because i wanted to really love it but i knew that it was a 9.1% beer and that i usually don't like something like that. but there are exceptions to that rule and i really wanted to try this out for one of those slots.

it's an amazing beer. i think i drank it a little bit too cold because i didn't really smell anything but all that i read made it sound like there was gonna be some life altering smell to this beer (snobbery, perhaps).

it's definitely too big a beer for me but i wish it wasn't because it is delicious. it's just that i can drink literally one of these and then i'm done with it and need something different. really tastes like a well balanced, really well executed beer. it's just that it's overpoweringly good for my taste.

it's probably some super high number to the people who drink this kind of beer. i give it 7.85 s2tp's but that's factoring in that i really love drinking one, but that that's not how alcoholism works and i guess i want something i can drink more of.
