Sierra Nevada Tropical IPA

Good hop and bitter taste at first. Kind of a weird aftertaste. Probably wouldn't buy again but would drink it if it was offered to me

the firestone walker opal farmhouse ale dry hopped saison is a long thing to have to call a beer.

now look, i'm sure this is a fine rendition of this style of beer because i've yet to find a beer that firestone walker hasn't done a great job with. but i guess this just really isn't my style of beer. i don't like that smell and i don't like that sour taste. no matter what brand i try i just don't like this kind of beer.

now i finished it so i've had worse. it's not like i had to dump it. it's just not for me. i didn't enjoy that.

i guess it's kind of freeing to know that i don't have to feel pressure to try them anymore.

alright, i'm feeling a little queasy but i know i'll power through and get to drinking in a bit.

so while i still have some beer leftover from that shopping cart picture i need more in my life. i was planning on drinking the samuel smiths oatmeal stout today but instead found myself in a liquor store this morning looking for something hoppy.

i came away with Victory Vital IPA and Stone Ripper San Diego Pale Ale (a rippin' swell of juicy hops!)

okay, the Victory Vital IPA.



very very weird. after my recent flirtations with lagers and pilsners i re-learned the taste of those beers. this beer, while very good feels like a pilsner or a lager when you're drinking it. it's a refreshing beer.

the hop taste that it has is a good one and i'm glad i have 5 more of these in the fridge but it's definitely got a pilsner-with-hops feel to it.

i'd still give it 7.9 s2tp's because it's an enjoyable beer and all. i actually really like it. i'm not saying it's bad. i just can't deny that with every sip i go "huh, that's .. different." the fact that the beer is yellow and looks very light probably helps induce this strange feeling at least a little bit.

but i like it. this sounds harsher than i intend. it's very very refreshing. i will buy this again.
