this thread has taken some different tacks in it's life, discussing foods that go with beer, flavoured beer among them.

Don't think there was been any discussions on non-alcoholic beers, so thought I'd try to spur some discussion on it.

I'll start with a beer (non-alcoholic) for DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously. Here is Canada I prefer "Presidents Choice Dark Beer" available at loblaws.

- Doppleganger

Beer for dogs Beef flavoured nuntheless!! Out of pure cursiosity, did you happen to try it?

President Choice? I`ve never heard of it. It that available only in Canada?

Dude,
Those are some seriously great brews. I would see if they have room in the back and just move in.

Beer for Dogs......but no I have not tried it.

Presidents Choice is Loblaws (Supermarket Chain) house brand..............but I seem to recall "Presidents Choice" in an American Supermarket a few years back.

Tell me about it!! Luckily for dumbnickname and I, its only a short 3 minute drive(we happen to live in the same neighborhood) This place rotates beer like this on a regular basis. I`m forever in the Bottle Shop picking up something as well!. ............Drives the wife nuts!!

You know, I was thinking that ,but I wasn`t sure. They do have the same Presidents Choice brand in the supermarkets around here. I don`t know if they sell it though. I generally go for the beers that contain alcohol

It has it's place. When you know you've had enough to drink (Alcohol beer) there is nothing wrong with having a few of these as they do taste great.

I also use this beer when cooking, in stews and stuff.

I always have a few in the fridge for on a hot day, and it's to early to have a regular beer, or you know you'll be driving later.............this beer fits right in, and fills that "beer" quench you crave............................AHHHHH gotta go Get ONE NOWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually PC does make a selection of beers with 5% alcohol content. But they are nothing to write home about...

If anyone is near Lennoxville/Sherbrooke, Qc....you should try the Golden Lion's amber or pride. It is all made in the Pub which is pretty much Bishops Universities' unofficial campus bar. The Amber is said to have 12 different aphrodesiacs in it; although it is probably just the alcohol content considering the university students that attend.

Here are some i have found to be favorite beers

red stripe is from jamaica and comes in the wee chubby stubby bottles
lighter flavour like carona but much more present

somebody mentioned fin du la monde. horrible way too much flavour

big rock's Grass hopper on tap is an excellent beer not very exotic but the mixture of the sour lemon(which you add to it) and the sweet beer taste is wow. they do sell it in bottle but on tap is the best

newcastle is another great beer

Pumphouse fire chiefs red ale is not the class of elite beers but is a good after work beer

the best buck a beer type brew lucky lager and AGD don't taste totally rancid and are good beers for when the boys come over for a pop after work

waterloo brown ale is a decent product that again is not world class but a good tasting beer

I am. I don't brew as much as I'd like to or probably should but I've done some IPA's, an Irish Red and I currently have a keg of homebrewed English Pale Ale in the garage.

I wish I could find the time to brew again. I only made a couple, but theres nothing better than to sip a brew that you made right in your kitchen (sure does stink up the house). I should set a date and make some more. Hophead and I even went as far as to cut the top of a keg open to be able to brew it outside, but never got around to using it. I would love to make a real strong stout.

Oatmeal Stout and Organic Ale especially.

Newcastle is considered a lady's beer in England, by the way.
