now i also grabbed a 6 pack of this marijuana-themed beer. it's a colorado thing i guess.

i've had it before but i didn't really remember it. and it turns out there's a good reason for that. it's just not a real memorable beer. i like the beer these guys make and it's not like i'm saying this is bad. it does a lot of things well but doesn't do anything really great that's standing out and making me want another. in fact i only drank one and then did bourbon for the rest of the night.

i'm not even saying i wouldn't buy this again. i'm just saying it didn't move me. i just know i bought 6 and for some reason i left 5 in the fridge.

figured i might as well see what happens when you mix both and if i were to describe it: it's like if an IPA and a grapefruit were mixed together and then i regretted buying it

it's a very crisp, clean pilsner. refreshing. pretty much what you're looking for if you go looking for a pilsner. i can't think of anything i've had from this brewery that wasn't good.

i like them when they aren't messing around with fruit

the apricot, raspberry, and pumpkin beers are not my thing. real watery with fake syrupy flavours

it was probably 3 years ago, at least, but i mentioned my first dogfish head indian brown ale on this godforsaken website. well anyway, i've had a few since and i had another tonight.

let's face it, brown ales suck. i can't think of a good one. the most common one you can find is newcastle and the more i had it the more i realized it was kind of bullpoop. not to mention i was usually in an irish bar in the city surrounded by weirdohs watching soccer games while wearing soccer jerseys.

but the dogfish head one was good. this has to be what these other companies mean to be doing when they are making their brown ales. this must be what they think theirs tastes like.

it's mostly a nutty flavored coffee taste. that's the main thing and i feel like that should be the idea with a brown ale - a nutty malty beer (although the coffee surprised me). what is that bread called.. you know you buy a loaf of it and it's dark dark brown, almost black. what is that bread called? anyway, i think of that loaf of bread when i'm drinking this beer.

also, it's smooth AF. it's carbonated without feeling carbonated somehow. creamy, really. i like carbonation but this somehow really works with this beer. it's smooth like my beloved porters and stouts.

finally, you mother(frank)ers know i don't go for higher abv beers. i like my poop pretty low, around 5 or 6. this is apparently over 7% and you honestly don't even notice it. it wasn't overly-boozy or getting in the way of the taste of the beer even a little bit. if you told me it was 4.9% i'd believe you.

this is the only good brown ale i've had in the whole wide world.

leftfield brewery near me makes a brown ale that is pretty good. they sorta cheat by putting a lot of hops in it for the style though so it's not like most brown ales
