this is not great

this one's good but i wouldn't say great.

first of all, it's made in millville nj, which is a dump that's only famous or mike trout and my drug dealer. secondly, i just don't know if i agree with ipas over like 7 or 7.5%.

but i mean it's still good. i'll drink them.

i remember reviewing that sixpoint resin and probably giving it a hard tie for the alcohol content but i find myself craving that one every so often.

also, i re-upped that cigar city beer i liked that was named after a shirt. guayabera or whatever. since cigar city's such a big deal i also picked up a 6 pack of this jay ajayi.

yeah, 856 is a little off for me. i mean i guess it's the abv, i don't really know. i like the beer but it gives me an aftertaste that i'm really not into.

i just looked and beer advocate gives it a 4.1, which falls into the exceptional range. of course, it's only 17 ratings and that could be 17 family members from millville, but still that's a pretty solid rating.

jay ajayi is good. not as crisp and california-ey as guayabera. maltier in my opinion. not as refreshing. it's still real good but it's no guayabera. like 7.65 s2tp's

all these beers tonight have done is made me realize even harder how good guayabera is.

no doubt we've been over this before but this is a really solid beer by a really solid brewery.

alright, so cape may has found its way into its first collaboration (that i know of). here is a white cream stout (?) that they have made with left hand brewing.

now, this was weird because i was pouring a stout into a glass and it was copper. i almost got dizzy and fell down.

anyway, the poop was delicious but like a dessert beer. you drink one at the end of the night. sweet as honey. smooth as silk.

s2tp-wise, i'm honestly not sure how to score his beer because it's not an everyday thing and it's not something you sit and drink 3 of so it's hard to compare it to other beers but mark my words: this is top tier for a dessert beer. i love the people at well's & young's but this makes their banana nut bread dessert beer taste like dark piss.

really though, don't underestimate the effect it has on your fragile mind to pour a stout and it basically looks like boddington's or something filling the glass.

you dumb mother(frank)ers don't know what a brownie meltaway is but i'd imagine they're a staple of the thanksgiving menu postings going back to the first one and beyond. probably the only item that's been there every year.

listen, it's strong AF, i'm not gonna tell you it isn't. so pour yourself a small glass. grab three small glasses and two people you like and toast something with this. that's what we did.

now, remember how the last beer was a dessert beer that shamed other dessert beers? well this one is a dessert beer that shames that one.. if you can handle the high abv and richness of this bad boy (you might literally have to chew).

also, i went to a 4 prong birthday party tonight. i gave a 6 pack of new belgium the hemperor, a six pack of rogue yellow snow, a six pack of big muddy vanilla stout, a bottle of freakshow cabernet sauvignon, and all 4 got a bottle of samuel smith's chocolate stout to go with their main jawn.

two of them had to get on planes in the morning, both before 7am. so the party had to break up early. but don't worry. i got a driver and just drank 2 or 3 times faster than i normally do to make up for it.

there was indeed a dog there. he's psychotic. they had to make half of hteir basement a prison cell. bars and all because they love him but he freaks the (frank) out when they leave the house. so they built him as big of a room as they could. he's basically cujo.
