i did a bunch of christmas shopping on lunch.

you guys should know that i picked up a little something special for mydamnself. and it is a very well respected beer that i have never tried before.

Belgian Abbey. It's really great. They have a sampler pack thing at Christmas and all of the 6 beers are glorious.

what's an abbey? is it like a wheat beer? something about the funk of a belgian wheat beer really turns me off. i've tried but i just can't. i've been told if i really want to be a beer snob instead of a "craft nerd" i have to get over it but i can't. allagash white is as close as i can get and honestly i don't even like that.

what's an abbey? is it like a wheat beer? something about the funk of a belgian wheat beer really turns me off. i've tried but i just can't. i've been told if i really want to be a beer snob instead of a "craft nerd" i have to get over it but i can't. allagash white is as close as i can get and honestly i don't even like that.

bernardus 12 is a hardcore malt bomb, it's (frank)ing amazing and anyone that doesn't like every style of beer is a mutant

now excuse me while i write a 40 paragraph essay on why i hate fruit gimmick beers

I forget which hop version it was but one of the prairie gold versions tastes more like orange juice than half the orange juices out there

so my ott's in voorhees beer menu said "FIRESTONE WALKER TAKEOVER!" and there were 10 firestone walker beers to choose from. but i went with the mind haze and really henjoyed it so i ended up just having three of those. i'll have to go back to try some of the others.

i'ma say this firestone walker mind haze is as good or better than the sierra nevada hazy little thing.

real hoppy, real refreshing. good stuff.

this samuel smith is my dude. first the organic chocolate stout, then the oatmeal stout, now the taddy mother(frank)ing porter. sammy smith is the truth.

this is an excellent porter. i've never even seen this before but it's top notch. like top tier. stone the crows, as they say over there.

this is a world class brewery, whoever the hell they are.

suddenly a luponic distortion (#14) with a different colored label.



alright. it's a weird beer. it says "hints of: white grape, mandarin orange, and passion fruit"

so i'm like "well alright, how can this be?" but it still says "flavors through hops" on the can so it's cool with me.

i really don't know what flavors i'm getting but i can tell you it's crisp and fruity for sure. good body but somehow still light and ridiculously easy to drink. i feel like i could drink 1000 of these. it's not the best luponic distortion ever or anything like that but it's different and it's real real good. i'm going for a second already.

a sierra nevada hazy little thing.

solid AF beer. hop forward. bitter and crisp.

is this my favorite sierra nevada beer? it's easier drinking than torpedo. hmm..

It's been months since I last bought beer but I got a can of great lakes octopus wants to fight (have had it in the past, it's real good) and some dry hopped sour from the brewery in the alley (left field brewery).

Will report back within 9 months after I have tried them.
