In my younger days.... I would curse this beer as swill and look down upon those who drank it... but now that I've gotten on in my years... there's something to be said about a beer that just tastes like beer.

best tasting is Innis & Gunn IPA its oak aged and an incredible beer sold only in limited amounts. Any of their products are worth a taste. All of their beers are oak aged.

I've had a couple of these... very distinct taste for sure. Not for the faint of heart.

Not an overly good one either. It's okay.

If you're ever in need of a case of beer, on say, a long weekend, and the beer stores are all closed - go to the Amsterdam brewery. Those guys are open until 11 most nights, and open most holidays as well. It's decent beer too. Not top notch, but pretty good. (the Amsterdam Blonde I mean - don't bother with any of the KLB stuff)

A meaty IPA. Plenty of hops and it's wrestling with a full malt character. Highly recommended.

i have a case of this....dont know why or where it even came from, but it is currently in the garage refrigerator

That's a Moncton Brewery. By buddy's family lives nearby. I've tried the Blueberry ale, it's REALLY good. Apparently, if you get it straight from the keg, there are actual bits of blueberry in your bear. He says they make a scotch flavoured beer as well, and it's supposed to be awesome as well.

Love the monk reference and logo. Monks in Belgium do brew beer.

Anyway, you'll get a msg if/when we head west. The Trappist looks like a place to spend a few enjoyable hours.
