Picked up 8 of these bad boys today.... Tusker Lager. Last time I had one I was camping in Kenya.

Not a complicated beer, easy drinking and refreshing.

- shabbs

Hold on, camping in Kenya???
Is that a popular camping destination? And you managed to find cold beer?

Love the description:

"A biting, bitter, tongue bruiser of an ale. With a name like Hopslam, what did you expect?"

Nice.

It has all of that with a equally balanced citrus note as well. Great beer!

Heck yeah. That stuff's all over here. It'll knock you on your ass too, because it's not an obviously "strong" beer.

My favorite regional brewery is Mendocino Brewing Co. out of Ukiah.

It's all good. All of it.

We get the Red Tail Ale and the variety pack where I am. I like the hoppiness of the red tail as well as the IPA from the variety. The Black Hawk was good too.

Weyerbacher Double Simcoe IPA

Simcoe is a bittering/Aroma type cultivar bred by Yakima Chief Ranches first released in 2000. Simcoe is a unique American hybrid. Although it is primarily a bittering hop, it’s clean, pine-like aroma and a taste with a slight hint of citrus. It is less astringent than other pine-like hops and has been highly sought after to make distinctive and unique Pale Ales and American Ales. Simcoe’s flavor is believed superior due to low cohumulone levels. Alpha acids range from 12 -14%.

To add to this, Simcoe is the so called "secret hops" used in Dogfisheads famous flagship beer 60 Minute IPA.

Weyerbacher hits the mark with Belgian-inspired Zotten
by Edward Sieger
Friday June 05, 2009, 12:30 AM

Weyerbacher Brewing Co. expanded its impressive stable of beers when it added Zotten, a Belgian-style pale ale, to its seasonal line-up. Company president Dan Weirback said the company plans to release Zotten in June and July, although he envisions a possible line-up change by adding the beer to the year-round offerings.

Zotten represents a somewhat unique style, Weirback said, as not a lot of brewers offer a Belgian-style pale ale.

"A lot of people make IPAs, imperial stouts, barleywines," he said. "People are always looking for something new."

Weyerbacher released Zotten Wednesday, putting about 2,000 cases and several hundred kegs into distribution. Locally, Zotten is available at Pearly Bakers' Ale House, Porters' Pub, Starters Riverport, Liberty Street Tavern, Tally Ho, Blue Monkey and Bear Creek.

Weyerbacher also released the new brew in the Philadelphia area, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Washington D.C.
