With my burger had Maredsous #8 and then an Old Speckled Hen.

Both very nice, once the Maredsous settled on my palate was very drinkable and refreshing.

it is not a preppy or snobby thing

it is a love of what the real craft tastes like

i cannot explain it in a way that would convince you or i would have done so years ago, so i give up, but i do so begrudgingly.
