Not a lot of pumpkin beer variety in Ontario this year so I tried them all. This is how I'd rank them:

1) Southern Tier Pumking
2) Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin Ale
3) Great Lakes Brewing Pumpkin Ale
4) St Ambroise Pumpkin Ale
5) Grand River Pumpkin Ale

I shared all of them so I only had a relatively small glass of each but that's how I'd rank them. They were all essentially pumpkin pie in beer form so not much to complain about with any of them.

loved the smashed pumpkin.

Rapture is a Sour Beer sort of in the vein of a Flanders Red, but somewhat bolder in flavor. It’s a 6.7% American Wild Red Ale that has undergone 100% of its fermentation and 18 months of aging in pinot noir wine barrels on a collection of micro flora that has created wonderful flavors of berry fruits, oak, and a pronounced yet quite pleasant tartness. The acidity is rounded out with a muted vinous quality, satisfying maltiness, and effervescent mouthfeel that are sure to bring you joyful ecstasy.
