They make lots of barley wines and sour ale type stuff in Italy I think. There's one called Panil Sour or similar (don't remember, sorry) at the LCBO that I got in the spring that was actually pretty good if you like that sort of thing. It tasted a bit like cherries, but sour and a little "off" which is what it's supposed to taste like.

It cost around $15 or something insane if I remember correctly.

sour ales should come from belgium due to the airborne yeast there

a sour italian ale frightens me... i would try it though.

Great Brewery, and in a sweet location. Like their Boont Amber quite a lot. Very crisp.

Of all the Fresh Hop Harvest beers I've had so far this one ranks right up there with the best of them. I was lucky enough to find a case at my local distributor last week. Surprisingly it's only around 6%. I have yet to see any of this particular style much above that. With these beers its more about imparting that fresh picked hop flavor then obtaining a high gravity double IPA hop bomb.

I just picked up a bomber of this one. Unbelievable chocolate stout! Can wait to pour this into a glass later on today.

I wax poetic on here about Souther Tier Brewing Company (south of Buffalo, near Jamestown, NY) because they've been able to deliver both hop bombs and high abv ales. If you can get your hands on some of their brews, I urge you to go for it. They are my favorite brewer, hands down.

I've recently picked up a 2nd job at a local beer/misc. beverage outfit by the name of Consumers Beverages. Let me put it this way, it's like letting a meth addict help the meth cook in his lab.
