I hate the outdoor events in the big stadiums but if they could find a venue where the spectators could be closer to the glass I think that would make it a better event. Unfortunately to the NHL it’s all about how many butts in the seats instead of the quality of the game, and next year they want 100,000! Good heavens. I did like the different camera angles, especially from above when the Flyers were on the PP, and hope the NHL incorporates that angle in more broadcasts.

It's typical ESPN/ABC and their brutal coverage of hockey. Just stick to basketball or whatever the phuck you're good at. Interviewing Buttman while the Flyers were on a PP was absolutely brutal. I mean, interview the turd during the intermission!!! How hard is it to figure that out. A 5 year old producer could nail that one. PK comes across as a total fool/clown! It is just brutally embarrassing and I almost feel sorry for the guy (almost). No more afternoon games or outdoor games for the Flyguys cause they suck at them. Eh what??

I do feel sorry for him. He’s trying so hard to be entertaining. Somebody ought to let these guys know that it’s the game that’s entertaining. Not them. Nobody’s tuning in to see PK do his shtick.

I agree. He makes no sense as a rental. Hanifin turned down 8yrs/7.75 Mil AAV at the beginning of the season. If he signs with the Flyers they would have 2 LD with long term contracts. They will both be in their 30s when the Flyers would be projected to be contenders. Sounds like a Fletcher move.

Outside of Bonk and MM the flyers are pretty thin at blue chip prospects. I dont see any top 6 forwards playing for the phantoms or starting six regular dmen at this point in their development.
DB should be stocking up on prospects.

Ersson is 36th in the NHL in save percentage. Under .900%. Not nearly good enough.

What is the deal with the 7 defenseman lineup? Deslauries plays 5-6 mins a game, essentially playing with 10 forwards. I guess Brink is buried the rest of the year.

Even if the Devils get hot, the Flyers should be able to hold onto a playoff spot. Detroit stinks, Penguins just lost Guentzel for a month, and the Islanders are garbage. Blowing a playoff spot would be a total collapse.

No real point discussing that since pretty much the only answer is the draft. Maybe they can trade for a young defenseman another team gives up on too early but that’s it. Not a lot to talk about.

This is one theory. Obviously the D is not coming from our system. Maybe michkov is that guy but they shouldn’t put all their eggs in that basket. IMO this summer you really have to think about seeing if packaging a konecny and maybe a draft pick(s) can land you a blue chipper that a team is willing to move in order to get konecnys play now.

The problem I see for DB is that the team makes the playoffs and expectations are high for the next season. The flyers may win a round but let’s face reality they aren’t contenders.
The flyers being generous need a #1 center and dman. How are you getting either? That’s why TK has to be traded in the offseason. He either is going to bring a very high 1 st round pick or a high end prospect that a contender can’t wait to mature to be cup contender worthy.
The other issue is getting a very capable backup goalie. I would write of Hart if I was DB because of the unknown circumstances.
While this season has been fun and unexpected you can’t lose sight of the ultimate goal.

I’ve had enough of these outdoor games. Terrible broadcast for anyone who actually wanted to watch the game. The announcers seemed totally uninterested in what was going on on the ice. Annoying interviews during play; do we really need a split screen interview with Bettman during a powerplay? The constant inane babble with seemingly no interest in describing what was happening on the ice. Max Weinberg? Subban is trying hard, but has zero charisma or appeal. What was that cringy routine in the NJ locker room? What was he trying to sound like? The silly jerseys. The disconnect between the fans in the stadium and the game. Also, the Flyers have sucked for the last 10+ years. Why are they a team the NHL wants to feature in these events? Why not a team with some stars on it? I’m sick of watching my team lose these games.

What team has a spare #1 center or #1 center prospect?

How many #1 centers or #1 center prospects have been traded in their 20’s in the last 10 years? Eichel, ROR if you consider him a #1 center. Tage Thompson was a winger. Gabe Vilardi is the only high end center prospect I can think of traded recently but never thought of him as a #1. Point being trades of top notch centers are so rare that the likely of the Flyers pulling one off a very very low.
