I agree with you but what we know right now is there were 23 players on that team and 18 of them were not asked to surrender themselves. Even if Hart did not actually assault the girl, he apparently was there in the room, and if true that will be enough. - jd250 You're probably right, but I would choose to wait until everything comes out before making a judgement on their careers going forward.

Couturier can't keep up with the play, right?
- MJL
Did you think he was a factor in the outdoor game? If not, why not? |

I think if they are completely exonerated their NHL careers could resume. It probably depends what type of info comes out during the trial I suppose. - Phillywhiteout
If they're found not guilty in court but they’re a still doubt, they won’t be allowed unless the nhlpa steps in for them. |

I want my captain to drag his team into the fight every night. TK was all over the place in a big game! I know that isn't Coots' personality, but that is why I wanted TK as the captain. Nothing against Coots. I like him as a player. I just wish this team had a true #1 center so he could be in the proper role as #2 center. - Phillywhiteout
Couturier does that pretty much every game.

Of course we wish and need a number 1 center, but Coots does not need to be a number 1 center to be a good captain of the team. If this team makes the playoffs you will see Coots on display front and center, since that is more his style of play. The outdoor game was pond hockey, not the type of game the Flyers will win most nights as currently constituted. |

Couturier as usual was among the Flyers best players in the game.

That game was not pond hockey and it's was not a game that the Flyers lost due to how their roster is constituted. They lost because their structure broke down and they lost attention to detail.

Yes because the style of the game did not suit how they need to play to win, and how they play is based on the players they have, so again, just say you agree with me. There were 88 total shots on goal, I call that pond hockey. |

Tim Stutzle is not a #1 center? Had 39 goals and 90 points last season. Has 49 points in 51 games this season. The two points means he's not a #1? Dylan Larkin in Detroit is also a #1 center in my opinion, - MJL
who are the 10 teams you said that do no have a #1 center in your opinion?
happy presidents day cliff. you are def the president of these boards. |

You have a reading comprehension issue. You're also showing your lack of hockey knowledge here. What determines the style of game played?

Contradicting yourself as usual. Out of one side of your mouth, Couturier was not invisible. Out of the other side, it was a game that Couturier can't play.

Don’t embarrass yourself on Presidents’ Day. You’re obviously so intimidated of me you won’t even type the words “I agree”. I pity you. As for me, time to hit the slopes. |

We’re still having plenty of talk about having a true #1 center, or how to obtain one. Hmmm.

I didn’t say Coots could not play, I said he will not be as effective in that type of game. It is you that has a reading comprehension issue, as well as being dumb as a stick! |

If Ersson plays better and they bury a few of those it's an entirely different game. They could have just as easily put up a 5 spot in that second period, but instead ended still down 2 goals because of Ersson and lack of finish.

So in saying that it's not a game that Couturier can play, that's not the same as saying he won't be effective. You're wrong on a number of counts. One, it was not a pond hockey game. Secondly, Couturier was very effective in the game. Your attempt at insults is pathetic.

Yes, first just the fact that the Flyers had 27 shots on goal in the second period and there was a total of 88 shots in the game tells you there was very little defensive structure in the game, which is my definition of pond hockey. Outdoor games are toughest on goalies as we saw yesterday and we already know the Flyers lack finishers. I think people need to give Ersson a break here. I think he will be fine down the stretch. |

Definitely those are key factors but the Flyers had bad defensive breakdowns in the game and poor structural breakdowns in their forecheck and neutral zone forecheck leading to goals against.
