Off topic: I was just reminiscing about the old school Flyers, and how frustrating it was that they couldn’t put a team together to win it. Just kept swinging and missing on old names and untapped potential….total Raiders poop (my favorite sports team/thing in my life since I was 6….im old now)

On the “untapped potential” line: was watching this video of Alexandre Daigle having a hatty for the Flyers. Note his final goal he was on the ice for pick #3 in his draft year.



And we all know #2 was here as well… 1-3 in that draft all played for the flyers.

I’m not sure if it “matters”….but I think that was a WANT pick. Jones has said multiple times since taking over he wants to build from the blue line out. I think they wanted to start there. Not so much a “need”, but it’s kinda similar. Might just be semantics

The key is the growth he's showing offensively in his D+1 season, which many thought he might not be capable of. He's rounding out his game and that bodes well whether he plays top-pair/PP or a lesser role in the future.
