Canucks just gave up 10 goals to Minnesota. Are they in on Gibson too? It's the same ocean.

Markstrom just got lit up for 3 goals in 5 minutes to the Jets. Wondering if NJ is looking elsewhere now. Maybe Jack Campbell?

What a joke. Gibson had 4 solid, not earth shattering years in a row when the Ducks actually had some good players. He's been a .900 goalie for 5 straight years now. ***FIVE*** in a row. He's signed at 6.4 for four more years. It's a horrible deal. It's a Matt Murray deal. If LA wants him, they'd be suuuper lucky to trade PLD for Gibson one for one. Anaheim shouldn't take that, because PLD's contract is even worse. But IMO Gibson is worth negative value, and the Ducks should expect as much back. A first plus a prospect? Jeez Louise.

I’d imagine something along the lines of…
C Adam Turcotte
F Viktor Arviddson
2024 1st Round Draft Pick

With only $770k deadline space available (projected), they have to include Arviddson to make the money work as Anaheim has never had an appetite for dead money.
Turcotte is high risk due to injury.
Arviddson might be able to be flipped for another 2nd and 5th or paired with the Boston pick the Ducks hold to snag another 1st+.

Goalies have almost no trade value from the jump and his contract is bad and his play is avg at best. So how much value does he have? Somewhere in the negative..

You got a better shot of seeing butterflies spring from Gibsons ars than the ducks getting a 1st for him.

Lol, Toronto will end up paying more for a lesser goalie by the deadline…

LMAO... why would the 30th team in the league want a top 6 forward.. would they not want draft picks and prospects???

and the only way LA can afford Gibson is if either, they trade a top 6 forward (which wont happen) or Anaheim retains 50% of the money.

Give the list of goalies that have gotten 1st round picks in a trade in the cap era. It is very short and Gibson is very far from being a deserving candidate.

The 1st is needed to take a guy who doesn't exist the deal

A 1st and top 6 forward is a fair offer. Assuming two things:

1) The other team hasn't watched Gibson in the last 5 years.

2) The other team is one of those lucky ones with like $17M or $23M of cap space.

That's much more accurate. The first would be going to a team willingly to take Gibson for future considerations.

Lol, that was more a dig at Toronto’s Asset Management than a case for overpaying for a goalie at the TDL.

Though in both Toronto and LA, ya may be overlooking the human factor that Treliving entered into that job with more whispers about his ability than any GM in recent memory. Blake on the other hand, after what’s become a bit of a cap fiasco with PLD; Fiala being okay but certainly an overpay; the inability to recognize the value Vilardi presented, to say nothing of the Petersen deal and he may be approaching this TDL as someone who will loose their job if the Kings don’t end up a Top 8 team and a Top 8 that goes to 6 or 7 games and easily could’ve been a Western Conference Finalist. The way that roster is built, anything less is a failure. And NOT doing anything; running out Talbot and hope, he’d deserve to lose his job.
