They look to be on track to do it. They were on the road forever. Came back for two. Then road again with 3 in four. It was ripe to falter. Especially after emotional let down with Jets. - Quinn's Quest
If we drop the next 16 games out of the last 24 could still miss the PO's...
96 points they say for the WC Spot. |

Asset management. Should get a couple picks for both, thanks Benning. - K-man25
LOL Benning's core should bounce back. Maybe ...
Marky would do well on an Eastern PO team that needs a goalie and don't want Tanev back here. Need to keep some picks lol |

The Avalanche had three power-play opportunities and in six minutes of work with the man advantage generated 17 shot attempts, nine shots on goal and eight scoring chances, according to Natural Stat Trick.
Vancouver, in contrast, had two power-play opportunities and in four minutes of work with the man advantage generated five shot attempts, two shots on goal and two scoring chances.
...
Since the All-Star break, Vancouver has played .500-point-percentage hockey despite outscoring its opposition by six goals at five-on-five across its past nine games.
...
The power play isn’t scoring and, worse than that, has been surrendering goals against. In Vancouver’s nine games since the All-Star break, the power play has scored just three times while surrendering three short-handed goals.
Meanwhile, the penalty kill, which seemed to be trending in a solid direction, has surrendered nine goals in nine games — most of them coming just this past weekend in a pair of ugly games against Winnipeg and Minnesota.
As good as their five-on-five work has been this month, they’re giving it all back (and then some) on special teams.

Usually you look at these matchups to provide a clue as to how the teams might fare against each other in the post season but it's difficult to make a judgement on either one based on that game. The Canucks were on the second half of a road back to back and had to come into altitude. Despite that they looked pretty lively but I'm sure it all had an effect. The Avs are missing Nichushkin quite a bit and still really haven't solved the season and 2/3 hole at 2C and of course Landy is still sorely missed. It was a good game. One group of Canucks fans I saw in the concourse afterwards still seemed pretty happy about how the season is going. Always fun to see Z back in the building. |

Look if they meet in WCF I would be ecstatic. We’ll see who’s on the team then. Canucks have some guys missing now too but may upgrade as well.

Thanks for sharing. Seemed like a pretty fast game. I actually was in LA at Crypto for the Avs season opener against the Kings. They are one of the quickest and strongest teams I've ever seen live. Gotta be honest, I didn't see us ever being able to keep pace with them. Yet here we are. |

Club has an excellent reg season so far but have yet to deal with the adversity of a long losing streak or injuries piling up. Honestly this should be a good test. Based on last night from what I saw that's pretty much how most Canucks games would go in the PO's right now vs top clubs like COL VGK and EDM. Close losses but just not enough PO depth to get them there just yet. Now that may change if they get their shat together and Rutherford and Allvin add a few more players we'll see. But as it sits right now (for me) this is not a deep PO team at all. WPG MIN and COL exposed many things the club needs to work on to be sure. But I sure hope the Nucks make some noise. Been a fun year so far. |

Not by me. I accept his faults for all he brings to the table. He got the gears for his 8m contract but I believe he earned it & a bargain at that. 56m over 7yrs will be fine. He has been durable & much more. |

Not bad 4 in the top 50, most teams would be jealous, but then I saw Johnathan Huberdeau just in front of EP and Hughes. He must have been a good Panther. |

I am not sure he has been under appreciated, as he has easily been the Canucks best player, ever since he arrived, just some of the idiot guzzlers can't shut the fu ck up about a couple of other players, that they seem to think are the best players on this team. You being one of the biggest guzzlers, yet, you claim I know nothing about hockey. |
