Some folks just insist on being miserable.

I’m enjoying them this year…I’ve enjoyed a bunch of the young guys who are earning their ice. I’m not under any illusions, I still hope they are a seller at the deadline but at least I look forward to watching again.

my thinking is rather get a 1st 2 years down the line then a 2nd in 2024 if that is an option.

some Gm's wont care about sy 2026 as they may not have job!!! this is where danny boy needs to think outside the box. Then maybe use those picks for something else

I have said for a while include a mid rd pick or what not if needed with a player to get the 1st. The % as we know are much greater with a 1st rd pick than others to be an nhl player. Rather have quality picks than quantity.

Good post and agreed. I covet those firsts due to the odds of being an impact player. What I will say is that sometimes, a second is almost a first if you can get one from a bad team. It’s not that far off if you’re picking say 34 or 35. Draft draft draft. Today shows clearly what we are and what we aren’t. Sell at the deadline and see if we can make the dance without those guys. If not, it’s ok.

food for thought. A good agent doesn't work that way (unless it was really bad). Business as usual.

That’s the way it should work. I don’t see them doing the Flyers any favors.

Lots of hockey sites say this years draft isn't very strong. Any chance the Flyers make any deadline trades for picks and ask for picks in 2025 or 2026?

Exactly! It's obvious that they are still pretty far away talentwise to win the ultimate prize, but it's fun to see them compete and stay in almost every game. Was a playoff like atmosphere for that Saturday night Devils game and today's game. Despite today's result it was an enjoyable game to watch.

2017 was supposed to be a weak draft and look what it turned into...

not for the business end!!! no playoff revenue for the past 3 years. No doubt Comcast is begging right now for that extra $$$.

Snider always said need the 2nd rd to turn a profit, probably not 100% true and that was decades ago. Cant discount that angle despite what the 3 amigos say.

wish the revamped/overhauled the amateur draft dept and brought in some fresh blood with a track record.

and he shouldn't as his job is to get his client the $$$....Walker has no roots or "loyalty" here. This is his last chance at getting the big bag.

Scott Wheeler is ranking the prospect pools of each team from 32 to 1 on the Athletic. He is down to #7 (Chicago) and has not done the Flyers yet. So he has them ranked in the top 6 which I guess is a pretty good thing.

Take it for what you will.

I know but I’d see it as an investment. Do this rebuild right and you’ll have many years of deep playoff runs to pad your pockets.

A little food for thought for those that think the 11/7 format is archaic. Two other NHL teams have employed this method more than the Flyers and one of them is the Colorado Avs. Eh what? Not saying that I truly agree with it, but perhaps it's not as archaic as one thinks.
- Phillywhiteout

Is the AVs because of Mcdermont tho? He plays a hybrid role or maybe he’s just a forward now

playing 11/7 isn't archaic as it really hasn't been done in the past for any ext period that I recall. It is just dumb.

I put no stock in those lists. The proof is in the pudding. We have to draft well and develop well.

Awwww, are your panties on too tight again or did you wet them and Mommy won't change them for you? It's funny how much that you hate that I'm so much better than you at everything involving the game of life and that I still live in your head 24/7. Now go back to the Sixas blog where all the dumb phucks reside!!

Rempe had a great fight against Wade Allison back in pre season 2021…great scrap….but Kempe has obviously honed his pugilistic skills since then. T @hockeyfights.com
