I thought Farabee had the most chances for the Flyers that period, but could not convert. He had a partial break-away there and couldn't get a shot on goal and took a bad penalty (marginal call) on the PP, he has to do better there. Also Frost got the puck to the right of Shesterkin and had room to skate right in front of Shesterkin and get a good scoring chance, but instead immediately tried to pass it to the high slot. Frost needs to stop looking to pass all the time, he passed up a good chance I thought. I also thought Poehling had good wheels in that period.

D-low could out punch him 20 -1 and it would be the same crap.

As MJL always says to me, he has no ability to assess anything related to the sport of hockey, and he proves it everyday.

Dude, it's 17 against 1. Go sit in the corner with your dunce cap on.

18. Nick D didn’t get his ass kicked. The take down tells me Nick D won that fight.

There was one that that Nic D landed right down the pipe square in the face then he had the nice one that landed square on the left side of his forehead which probably made that volcano size welt

Edit: Also had that forehead pop with jersey over head that ended that fight. It was great for both players

Delsauriers landed a couple of shots , he landed one when he pulled Rempe's sweater up but Rempe landed about a half a dozen. Deslauriers beat the crap out of the #73 on Rempe's shoulder though.

Messier one of the greatest to play the game just said it best….what those guys bring to the game is immeasurable. The Rangers need that type of guy to help protect the skilled guys….even in todays game….but ya they don’t serve a purpose if you listen to some of the nonsense around here.

I thought that penalty on Farabee was a brutal call. He has every right to the ice in that situation. He wasn't in the blue paint and he has a right to hold his ground. what? He is supposed to get out of the way to let the goalie retrieve his stick? Of course Farabee knew what he was doing, but that isn't a penalty. Then the turd head ref goes over to the box to lecture him.

Frost had a very strong first period. The Flyers had 9 of their 14 scoring chances when Frost was on the ice.

I agree. I don't see that as a penalty. He doesn't have to move out of the way to let the goalie pick up his stick. He is entitled to that ice. If he had went out of his way and deliberately blocked the goalie, then maybe I can see it.

I thought the kid did great, don’t get me wrong…D-low landed 4 or 5 head shots that would have ended most fights….a far as what D-low took…I already knew he has an iron jaw…it’s been that way since he arrived in the NHL.

Two guys do that? Tip your hat call it a draw…may d low on points…

I've seen the fight 4 times now and all you're doing is denying reality. The Kempe kid is a tough SOB and has huge size, if he can provide physicality and other intangibles he could earn a spot on the Rangers for awhile. The problem is you are seeing what you want to see. Kempe had just as many shoulder shots and it's not like he rag dolled him one bit. You saw a cut on the nose and made your final assessment.

The issue isn't that specific fight it's the fact you obviously have a Nic D Derangement Syndrome.

Haha spot on, after like every punch for Rempe landed, lot of side of the helmet/shoulder from him too. Great fight, pretty even.

I've watched the fight multiple times also. Rempe clearly won the fight. Your last comment is asinine. If you want to discuss Deslauriers as a hockey player, we can do that.

Yeah it's not like anyone believes or thinks Nic D destroyed Kempe, but it was just a great fight for both. Someone would have to have NDDS to think otherwise.

Rangers have ramped up their intensity this period but the Flyers still aren't giving them much.

They looked at it and it didn’t look like the stick touched him. Not to mention no injury. No blood.
