It isn't a Kane or Berggren decision. There are other wingers on this team that will be allowed to walk, be traded or waived. I don't think Perron, Fischer or Kostin will be around next year. Sprong is on the bubble. And Copp, Fabbri and maybe Veleno may be traded for improvements, although Copp will be hard to trade without a sweetener and/or salary retention.

I'm not implying the the Wings can't have both Kane and Berggren... what I'm saying is they can't keep all of the current roster in tact. Not enough room in the lineup. Gotta make room for the young guys coming up in the system.

I agree Perron will probably either get traded or not be resigned. I think Kostin will probably be gone too. Fischer is a question mark at this point... as he's a big part of their very effective 3rd (checking) line. Sprong will probably get an extension as will Ghost I'm hoping. Copp isn't going anywhere... as he's got 3 more years on his contract and the only way a trade would happen is if the Wings retained a chunk of his salary. I doubt Veleno or Fabbri are going anywhere as the wings need their offense in order to roll 4 lines. Even if they move a couple people... there are still other players in GR who are ready to step up. There's only 23 spots allowed on the roster and I'm sure Stevie will make it work somehow.

And therein lies the cunundrum; who would go (if anyone)? The problem is that the chemistry on this team is so finely tuned that subtraction could throw everything off and screw up what's been created. I'd agree that the only logical move would be a D acquisition....However, it'd probably be Holl because Ghost, Petry, & Chiarot are a solid set up. And, to me, it couldn't a rental AND be someone for the 3d pairing, maybe 2d. Remember, Eddy's most-likely on the ON roster this fall....

I just don't see much changing in the Fs until this summer, or a more "minor" move at the TDL (Kostin, maybe....). That 3d line is simply a crushing line that brings serious offensive capability.

Going to be interesting to see how this plays out....

Did you hear that douche bag Chicago reporter asked Kane in the post game interview if he wanted to finish his career in Chicago? Are you kidding me???

Where are the Kane haters now??? 3 GWG in the past 8 games. This isn’t the last time you’ll eat crow!!
