Interesting. I missed that one. So that is twice in fairly recent games. - Reubenkincade
Missed what? missed a typical Miller celli?

There are alot of occasions when it's clear the 2 of them do like one another - onesmallleap
JT has been smeared about body language etc. Hasn’t stopped him being our best forward since he came here. Signs a bargain 8m deal & fans go onto how it will age. Some fans cannot let it go just like some in here calling out others in here. Petty ppl don’t deserve anything.
If I were JT I owe Petey nothing. Petey has earned a big raise & has yet to prove top paid is the top player. Yes he can do it. |

Miller does that. Multiple times he does the "catch me if you can" when people come at him after a big goal. That is one of a few he did. A few games earlier he was pushing everyone's hands away and skating away from the pursuers. Over the years I've seen that kind of celebration with a few players. ITS NOTHING.
Petey was the first one to get to him and give him the pat with a big smile on his face. - boonerbuck
Not getting too high or too low has been preached all year. Imo JT has his sights on bigger things & this is only 1 game in trying to get there. I’ve no problem with players not acting out on everything & celebrate. |

I haven't seen body language like what Miller showed us last season since Bertuzzi post Moore incident when the refs were leaning on him non stop. Miller was much worse though. It wasn't unfair to call Miller out for it. It doesn't compare in the slightest.

I am going to tone this down a bit. Petey is a very good player him and does a very big raise but it has to make sense.
It is a 1A/1B battle with EP and JTM. That is probably a good thing. I don't see it sitting well with JTM who is making 8 mil and being advertised as the 1C and handed a huge part of top responsibilities and finishes within five points of EP, and then paying Petey 12 mil.
I know salaries have gone up but players do ask why is he making this and I am paid less when I am out producing him or producing at the same rate.
Again they will settle it but there has to be some envy I would say.

On Bertuzzi when the league made him the poster boy for penalties pushing off it was pathetic. My 2 bits only. On JT he earns what he gets but is does go too far at times when his play should be the focus. On that he has been great & a very good reason we are where we are with others playing great & RT & staff & PA doing a masterful job. |

I guarantee you if you ask Miller he would tell you Petey is a better hockey player than him. His comments in the leadup to the all star game make it pretty evident he doesn't see himself as some elite player.
Different ages, different skillsets, different cap ceilings, different situations. |

Considering that Petey is nearly 6 years younger, if there's envy, then that's on JTM seeing as he's got nowhere to go but down and Petey still could get better. It's not JTM's fault that he was a late bloomer, but someone who will be on the downside of 30 at the end of their contract will NOT be making as much as a player who's just entering the prime years of their career. |

You get more when you’re young, it’s just a fact he’s better at a younger age and the first 5 years of any contract are his prime. |

There has to be some envy no doubt. JT committed long term at a very good cap hit. He has been our 1C on his play & what has been asked of him. Petey is 1C material as well but is trailing JT. Biz is biz after all & there will always be anomalies to talk about. |

I know all this but knowing JTM I have to think he is sitting in the room thinking to himself "Look at the little fu cken puke making all that money. Like the music video Money For Nothing by Dire Straits. |

If Miller has a clue, hell understand where he was at 25. He wasn't projecting anything like Petey not even close... he was struggling to get ice time in the top 6, hadn't put up big numbers as a C at all, had a career high 56 points and was averaging less than 15 min a night. He also had been traded already with controversy about being a cancer.
I really hope Miller isn't as petty as the fans are over salaries. If he is, then that is a selfishness the team doesn't need(and I don't think it's an issue). You can't have a vet pissed off about someone getting more than you because your game finally showed up in your 30's.

Yes on 6yrs younger but JT is still going up. Petey has sort of plateaued this year. Odds are JT will regress as seasons go by but there is nothing indicating that is happening yet. As for Petey his youth is on his side but has another level still to get to. When or if that happens will only make us better. We are trending very well & there are some very interesting prospects coming along nicely coming soon. Cap gymnastics is a big priority while we get past the OEL debacle. |

That's not how that works Miller got a fantasy hockey card, Petey did not.
Drew Doughty hit 99 before Miller did. |

I will say one thing about projecting players talent. Gaudreau Laine Eriksson PDL. Projections sometimes are mistakes.
