On Bertuzzi when the league made him the poster boy for penalties pushing off it was pathetic. My 2 bits only. On JT he earns what he gets but is does go too far at times when his play should be the focus. On that he has been great & a very good reason we are where we are with others playing great & RT & staff & PA doing a masterful job. - Nighthawk
No need to explain it to me. I moved on and only bring it up when the tilted comparisons start flowing. People keep rewriting this nonsense to magnify pretty much nothing.

Considering that Petey is nearly 6 years younger, if there's envy, then that's on JTM seeing as he's got nowhere to go but down and Petey still could get better. It's not JTM's fault that he was a late bloomer, but someone who will be on the downside of 30 at the end of their contract will NOT be making as much as a player who's just entering the prime years of their career. - DariusKnight
This is just common sense. Well said.

Huge character win for the guys on Saturday. Hopefully goes a long way to building back the winning ways. What are thoughts on Guentzel as another addition? Lindholm might not turn out to be the best fit but time will tell. |

If Miller has a clue, hell understand where he was at 25. He wasn't projecting anything like Petey not even close... he was struggling to get ice time in the top 6, hadn't put up big numbers as a C at all, had a career high 56 points and was averaging less than 15 min a night. He also had been traded already with controversy about being a cancer.
I really hope Miller isn't as petty as the fans are over salaries. If he is, then that is a selfishness the team doesn't need(and I don't think it's an issue). You can't have a vet pissed off about someone getting more than you because your game finally showed up in your 30's. - boonerbuck
You can have a vet push a younger player to be his very best & make winning a cup the ultimate goal. Not saying Petey isn’t driven for that but he will be expected to be front & centre like any other player in the league with a huge contract. GM’s whether smart or stupid win cups or get fired if they have a poorly spent cap that hamstrings a team. On this JR & PA have navigated the mess they inherited & here we are once again enjoying another juggernaut of a team.

I really hope Petterson isn't as pouty as his fans are over salaries. If he is, then that is a selfishness the team doesn't need(and I am not sure it's an issue). You can't have a player pissed off about someone getting more than you because that player brings more to the game, than you do. |

WTF??? I'm countering the body language argument with an example. How do you do this so often. You are perpetually barking up the wrong trees.

I will say one thing about projecting players talent. Gaudreau Laine Eriksson PDL. Projections sometimes are mistakes. - VANTEL

Guentzel be a nice add but if a bidding war idk. Lindholm would have to be flipped for starters.
One good thing about pulling the trigger getting Lindholm is lots of runway & gives PA more options before the March TDL |

When that does in fact happen we will revisit this. They are one goal apart and JTM has more points.
I will say it again, this last part of the schedule is no picnic and teams will be playing tighter hockey and scoring will be down. Penciling anyone in at this point to reach 100 points is cray IMO. Canucks came out of the gate scoring above their weight class but I am not positive it will be like that when the game tightens up.

I know all this but knowing JTM I have to think he is sitting in the room thinking to himself "Look at the little fu - VANTEL[/b]cken puke making all that money. Like the music video Money For Nothing by Dire Straits.
Why? Points are close, goals are the same, atoi are almost identical with the edge going to Petey, Miller only has a few more PP points... Miller is much better at faceoffs but Petey will improve being 6 years younger. Petey has 3 more gwg. More 5v5 points last I saw...
Miller makes more than Petey... so if he's sitting there stewing over Petey making less than him when everything is so close, then Miller is a cancer(which I don't buy).
Wow... and you are projecting Petey's contract as "money for nothing"?
edit: Dont know why it's all bold. Only bolded in your quote. |

So early season ppl had Petey in the MVP running. Still the case or who leads now?
Kucherov & MacKinnon & then there is McD back in the convo. I’ve JT in the mix. Hughes leads the Norris still. Helly the Vezina by a clear margin. Selke is up for grabs. |

/Cam Robinson/
I have no idea if Elias Pettersson wants to sign in VAN or move on
What I do know is that history tells us there's very little chance of winning a deal where you move the best player out
So basically, the Canucks better win the Cup this year or sign EP. Or both. Or cry forever
Ruby's got that one down pat. |

Well they should trade him if you are right. A 32 year who only reached the status he gets credit for late in his career has no business being a douche to the young players who reached that level at 24 over money.... money he agreed to.
I don't think he's that maggoty though.

Add in the despised +/-….
3rd JT +28 gets the tougher match ups
7th Petey +14 needs top 6 wingers
1st Hronek +34
2nd Hughes +32 |
