Fantastic Prez Cup race…
https://www.nhl.com/standings
All I care for is the West #1 seed. 2nd wouldn’t be bad but I prefer no matter what a series that isn’t long travel. Quick series win be best. |

Petey needs a play driver? - manvanfan
Yes in a sorta strange way. By that that I mean a skating puck handling threat to open up the ice. I find he gets himself pinned on the high right boards a lot when he gets angled there. |

Hughes was the best defenseman.
I thought Hronek and Myers had strong games, Zadorov not so much, he tends to struggle against faster teams, but good in the physical games. - Reubenkincade
My first thought was Hronek as well. Played a steady game at both ends. When I saw the Myers game score, I kind to put together how many offensive chances Myers had in the game. |

Myers has my unsung hero vote in a close race with Joshua. |

I don’t watch all Leafs games - missed this one. I’m a wings fan first.
Did you see it? Was it a penalty? I have watched enough leafs games to notice a trend that they typically get the short end of the stick so I’d assume much that same tonight.
High skill, fast, puck possession team - yet they draw a ridiculously low number of penalties each year. It’s weird. |

Anyone awake that knows stock market stuff? Thinking on a year to 3 of putting all our investments into dividend stocks. After 3 years then only our RRSP’s & TFSA’s invested.
Thinking on shoving all into the Big 5 Canadian Banks or also Enbridge & Fortis & TC Pipelines. Could do a blend &/or include others to be better diversified.
We can sit on the principal no probs & live off dividends & my pensions & work a bit if I want to in retirement. |

Blacked out here. Liking your Wings the way they are trending. Get a good starter & they’re cooking.
Marner whined big but it was a penalty. In front of the ref & hard to not call it. Keefe got tossed with his tirade. Definitely a high pace puck possession team but also avoid penalties cuz of their high end skill avoids contact a lot.
Edit: I grew up a Wings fan Original 6 days 👍 |

That's concerning.
The trickle down effect could go a long way if they bring in another top 6 forward and Joshua returns. Then they could return Lindholm to the top 6 and with the new player, push 2 of the higher quality bottom 6 players back down where they belong.

Avoiding contact has zero to do with it. They possess the puck a ton - meaning other teams are trying to get it back. Typically, that leads to hooks, holds, trips, etc., just doesn’t work like that for them I guess. I believe it was exactly what McDavid said when he held court a couple years back about how they didn’t get the calls in Oil country. He stated it was weird because they were a skilled, fast, puck possession team. Makes sense to me.
Just saw the replay (looked it up). Bad call. Marners blade was flat on the guys shin. He was falling before Marners stick even made contact. It looked like a reaction call. An even worse call was the one Brodie got. Man! The ref literally a foot away staring at the interaction called nothing but the guy at centre ice called it. I’d be pissed if I were a Leafs fan. |

Canadian banks aren't doing well at the moment and aren't projecting well for the short term. BMO was down over 3% today. They will still pay a good dividend but they aren't likely to increase this year. With inflation it is still best to mix in a few potential growth stocks to mix in with your dividend producers.

Calgary has been piling up points. Won 8 of last 11. Thought they would have tanked after trading Lindholm but its been the other way round. 9th in the west and climbing... |

Was on the knee & maybe could let it go but ref influenced by the optics & where on the ice. Marner had no reason to lay the stick on him. Play smarter & don’t let refs a part of the game. |

They sure did well on the Toffoli trade. Sharongovich (sp) is a keeper. |

Thx. Deciding on whether to stick with Enbridge only or add more dividend quarterly producers. BCE is one still looking for more TSX to diversify. Nutrien also. Don’t wanna deal with the NYSE at this time til plenty more research is needed. |

Oh man that just sounds like leafs hate there. It was a bad call all day. Guy is falling on his own. Bad call. I mentioned the Brodie one and I actually just saw another brutal call to be honest. The McMann one. Dude is literally falling with his stick behind him and a guy trips on it - gets a call. Awful.
Refs inset themselves into games all the time. It is what it is - but terrible calls tonight from the highlights I’ve seen anyways. |

Was just my take. Imo reffing isn’t keeping up with the speed & skill of the game. |

I just don’t think the leafs complain in game enough to be honest. Marner does a ton but the rest of the players especially Matthews who is held and hooked almost each shift just refuses to sell a call or yell at the ref. Ah well. |

I may not like the Leafs for my own personal reasons but I try not to be bias cuz firstly I’m a hockey fan 1st.
I always want to see great hockey & if players played smarter & whined less then the refs wouldn’t be as much of a problem.
That said again I stand by they are not as good as the quality on the ice. |

Yes AM doesn’t get enough calls & that is criminal. He’s elite & should get that credit like McD. |

Your strategy is sound but your choices of stock aren't. Canadian Telcos and Nutrien are also flat and struggling. Enbridge is solid and probably a better choice than TC Energy but also projecting fairly flat. Still smart to stick to the Canadian stocks though with low income the Canadian Tax Dividends really drops your taxes.
