Tocchet: I’ve had a lot of guys come up to me and say “don’t be afraid to put Bains out on the ice with me”. That’s a huge compliment to him. I’m not sure how long he’ll play up here, but it could be to the end of the year who knows.

Did you watch the game? Aside from a couple of decent plays in the 3rd he was getting caught out of position and coughing the puck up all night. I'm not gonna dump all over him for it. It happens, guys can't be on all the time. But he did not lead us to victory JT Miller did. Zadorov was our best Dman last night. - Load Management
I thought he was our best player in the 3rd and OT, played half of a very close game. |

Our best player in the 3rd was Miller. Then either Boeser or Zadorov. He played lots but I just don't think he was on when it came to playing D. |

Except he played almost the entire 3rd and OT and they didn’t score and Hughes set up the the last two goals… did you ask if I watched?! |

27:41 ice time, +/- even, 7 shots, 2 blocks, 1a.... in a come from behind win.
On a night where he was considered not up to par to downright terrible by some... then that says a lot of positives for the kid. Amazing really...

I could explain it to you, but that would involve more discussion than I'm willing to commit to tonight. I've got to wake up to the shovel tomorrow morning. |

He sucked balls for 2 periods and made up for it in the 3rd & OT.
Doesn't need pages to explain. Cardigans on the other hand...

No one needs to explain it to me. I get it... he didnt play that great. I never disagreed with anyone. What I'm saying is when a player comes out of a sub par game with stats like that, it says a lot about the player.
If you compare a bad QH night to a bad Myers night...it's going to look a hell of a lot different on the stat sheet. Why, because of the level of the players skill set and abilities.
Why do I have to explain this stuff to you? You should get it all on your own.
Why would I tell anyone they are wrong about how he looked? I didnt watch the game. That's Lefty's gig...

He still helped set it up and was a major part of both plays, I did watch and don’t need a stat to know |

Nice. Maybe the next Burrows. - Quinn's Quest
Not a chance, way too slow. And doesn't have the hands that Burrows did. To this day, the Canucks still do not have a shootout player like him. He had his move, the goalies knew what it was, and he challenged them to stop it, and most couldn't. |

Bains playing NHL games before Burrows did. Not really the same type of player, I think he was just meaning undrafted underdog |
