A lot of fake hockey rumour sites are saying Brady is being shopped. I'm guessing if he technically is, it's more to get other GMs on the phone to switch the conversation to something else? I.e. take Kubalik for a stay at home right handed D who has yet to prove himself? Ehh? Ehh? Maybe a sweet 5th round pick????

I'd love to say there isn't a GM in the league who'd take Kubalik and yet we are throwing around Tanev's name like he's the Wayne Gretzky of defense. So....it could happen. Tkachuk in the playoffs....it's what he's designed for. Wasting away here.

You know, if you are trying to make pithy trolling comments, at least get your facts right. Since beating Toronto ... again .... their record has been a respectable 5-3-1.

And yes, one of the worst teams in the east keeps beating the Leafs .... damn ... that slap shot to the open net really bugs you guys. LOL.

Just when we start to feel good about this team, they throw up a stinker to remind us that this is still largely a poorly constructed team.

I think that personally I have come to grips with the fact that we need to make Chabot an untouchable. He has really started to show improvements under Martin and team structure and more limited ice time.

Chychrun on the other hand has thrown up less points, and a worse +/- under Martin (Chychrun had better numbers under DJ Smith ???!!! .... huh !!!). I think that realistically, he is the guy that has to go. He seems lost defensively out there.

I can foresee major changes on the defense by next season .... Hamonic needs to somehow be dealt with as he has a no trade/no movement clause so we can't send him to Belleville). Brannstrom probably has his best trade value now.

So, minus Chychrun, Brannstrom, and Hamonic will open the door for Klevin and a trade. I can see a dance with St. Louis ..... Chychrun and Parayko and other odds and ends.

But in the end, we will need to trade for a legit goalie. I don't know who that is, but we can't keep trotting out the inconsistencies of Forsberg and Korpisalo.


Ideally, I'd like to bring in Saros and Parayko and a gritty style offensive forward (who can play on 2nd or 3rd line). That could go a ways to solving our inconsistencies. What to give up .... Chychrun, Korpisalo (at half his salary), Brannstrom, Tarasenko, Norris, Boston's first round pick.


Now, can we finally drop this insane potential playoff talk. It is not happening this year. I reserve judgement on next season depending on the changes Staios and co. can make between now and the summer.
