I disagree. They're missing their best player, a top 4 defenseman. Couturier is banged up and diminished. They played a solid 1st period, especially defensively and scored the games first goal. TB had the better of play in the 2nd but only one goal. The Flyers dominated the 3rd period and didn't give TB spit until they pulled the goalie. Played strong defensively and took the game over. Yes, Vasilevsky wasn't great but the Flyers deserve a ton of credit in this game.

there is some good news in that Cates is playing much better than earlier in the year.

I hope Seeler gets that contract because when you lead the league in blocked shots- a lot of physical pain endurded. I just hope the Flyers are not the team that gives him that contract.

That's the key and what I hope is the biggest philosophical change for the Flyers under Briere and Jones, and that is just because a team is willing pay a player what they asking, it does not mean the Flyers have to be that team or match that team. I love Seeler but I am sure the Flyers can find a defenseman out there that can do similar things for a lot less than $3M AAV. I love Walker also, but if he wants around $5M per, the Flyers have got to trade him and then revisit him in the off-season depending on what they can do with Risto.

Every time I have watched Vasey this season he has Sucked with a capital 'S'. Jason Myrtetus described him as being checked out and I guess that is as good of a reason as any, but whatever it is, Vasey might be the single biggest reason the Lightning don't make the playoffs this season. I mean last night he looked like Cal Pettersson.
