Must have touched a nerve if you've fallen back on hero worship for a 77 year old rapist who can't leave the house without being caked in orange/brown makeup.
Sanheim and Frost are both having strong seasons. The Flyers were lucky the dopes in charge didn't get rid of them this summer, or they'd be in the bottom 10 again. - Feanor

So what? The Flyers were ready to sign him in May. Both months start with the letter 'M', so what he heck was his problem? - jd250
His problem was not getting signed in March cost him an entire year of NHL service you absolute idiot. This has been explained many times in language so basic a 10 year old should be able to understand it.

Why would you need a chart to know Sanheim has been carrying the Flyers defense without much help as the Flyers hang around in a playoff spot?
I'm sure you love a lot of rapists, including yourself. |

That was my bad...I read it as "a consistent player". Only thing consistent was his rookie year, his 65 point year wasn't even consistent. - Glak18

I seriously doubt Couturier is the 4th line. As much as I doubt Poehling Cates and Hathaway are the "first" line. - MBFlyerfan
no reason to run couturier into the ground at his age
we still need him for the next 4 years |

Konecny was listed as minor UBI day to day. Tortorella just said he has no idea as for the time table for his return.
Things are slowly but surely returning to status quo. |

Oh .. so you think the Flyers should have let him burn 1 year of his ELC so he can play a couple of meaningless games at the end of last season?? Get freak'n real! Who the hell is Quitter to dictate terms? Like I said, he should thank his lucky stars to even get a chance in the NHL. Now he can have fun playing for of the least relevant teams in the league. |

Okay, Bill... as to the elephant in the room; I assume Coots is not really going to be THE 4th line center... and I imagine that we are all agreeing that he is banged up, and has had/will have his TOI reduced to get him to the stretch in better shape... but please tell me in the simplest terms why Torts is slotting his new captain there for practice... and why you feel apparently confident enough to slot him there for the game? Please understand that this is by no means a criticism of you in any way shape, nor form; I'm merely confused by this... I've followed the NHL and Flyers since their inception, and cannot recall such a move with these facts leading it.
On a side note; I was thinking this weekend that Cam Atkinson probably could use another wakeup call banching like last time... He obviously still has some of his skill, but some of his drive is missing.
In any case... tonight is geared up to be quite interesting, as I see it. - ForeverFlyer16
Because a) Couturier will skate his first shift of the game with that line, and b) Tortorella serially juggles line combos so his wingers will probably change around multiple times during the game.

My bad! I stand corrected. That's 9 out of 14, 8 of which are on the team. Better than I cited. |

yes they should have let him burn a year as that is the cost of doing business. It is done all the time. |

He injured his oblique, that is a very tricky injury to diagnose and put a time table around. Come back to quickly and the odds of re-injuring it go up substantially and then its a much longer recovery period, like surgery and 3-4 months. |

No, standard business is an ELC lasts 3 seasons, not 2 seasons and 3 games. |

ok, my bad it has never been done and not a normal practice at all. Flyers were 100% correct in being so business savvy. They really showed the league how to handle rookie contracts. |

all those picks contributing. Contributing to mediocrity I guess. With all those "hits" think would be be in a better spot. - hello it's me 2050
Hello, you're having a difficult time with understanding what you read today. My point is that the Flyers have a significantly better drafting record when it comes to 1st rounders playing 100 or more NHL games compared to leaguewide average of only 37%. You also missed my comment on the costs of missing on the #2 pick and burning a 1st round pick on JOB.
Facts are facts. You don't have to like them for them to be true. |

i don't regret the drysdale trade it's more of a reflection of gauthier's maturity - 2Real

So both York and Couturier are practicing today after being banged up in the third period last night. No Foerster or Ristolainen, though, as expected.

Tortorella on Couturier: "He's not - Feanor[injured]. He's banged up. Some players make a bigger deal out of being banged up and they sit out. He won't. He's an old pro."
https://x.com/jackiespieg...&t=-V1ajn-9TQDWcLq54Q1aCQ
#Flyers Sean Couturier on his injury: “I got banged up. It pissed me off missing those 2 games. ... I have to listen to my body and [it] didn’t feel right. ... So I thought it was better to rest and get the extra couple of days and make sure it doesn’t get worse.”
Those are all old tweets?

He is an elite prospect not a run of the mill draftee. He has options just like many others before him and after him. It's just a fact of life you treat your elite differently then those who are marginal like it or not. What harm would signing him have done you didnt have to guarantee him a playing spot |

Okay... I understand; the posted lines are merely to show the starting point... that will not continue throughout the game; I see where you're coming from... I suppose I've never run across such before was because until recently, with the internet, we've never been exposed to practice lines, and projected starting lines. Haha
Can I assume then that the placement on the 4th line in Monday's practice was most likely merely to limit his exertion?
Thanks for the response, Bill... clears up alot for me. |

I'm pretty sure this exact thing happened with Brink. Didn't his 10 game stint in 21-22 use up the first year of his deal?
