As much as we love the warmer weather if there is rain it’ll be bad news for some as the ground hasn’t thawed so rain water (and melting snow) won’t absorb into the ground and will cause flooding.
The companies that do flooded basement renovations / repairs on the other hand are probably drooling with the potential spike in business.
I know I’ll probably end up in the basement at my father in laws with a squeegee and shop vac moving water to the sump pump…..the frigging basement is only 4 feet high so you have to slouch like a humpback and/or get between the floor joists.
I will hit my head on the ceiling once per hour - this is a given.

That year, they held the training camp in Kitchener. Same complex that my wife's hockey team was playing in a weekend tournament.
So whenever my wife's team wasn't playing, I would go watch Team Canada practice.
Fleury stood out for two reasons: the colour of his pads, and the fact that he looked like the weakest of the 5 goalies in camp.
Crosby was there as (IIRC) a 16 year old, and still was fun to watch.
And Team Canada had a defenceman named Shawn Belle - best skater I have ever seen. I thought for sure he was going to be a superstar in the NHL - the next Paul Coffey.
I was wrong.

So you thought this guy was going to be a superstar but you hated MAF
One never made it and MAF has had 2 cups and a 20 year career as a GOALIE.
Wedgie give me two players from the last team Canada. One you think will be a star and another you were mad at, and I will buy the jersey of the one you didn't like because he will be so good |

Wow Santo, sick burn.
I mean the way you took the story I told about how I'm a lousy evaluator of junior talent, and then you turned it around to frame me as a lousy evaluator of junior talent.
This one is going to hurt for days. |

You are on record.
Also to hold a grudge for what 20+ years over a mistake in a hockey game is pretty impressive or pretty petty…or both!
I have a good friend who also “HATES” MAF for that - I laugh at him all the time. Flower was what 18/19 and made a mistake - it’s not like Canada hasn’t won a wild Jr tourney since then. Lol
I still want Flower but maybe a bit less now because I know if they get him you will put on your propeller hat and spew all kinds of stats and data that will make me sad. Lol - Cush29
I will make (frank)ing graphs if that's what it takes.

It was a joke
I just find it funny how you zero in on someone and hate them forever. Funny mentality. |

Perhaps you could point out where I said I hate Fleury.
Or put another way, perhaps not. |

Other than they have similar instrumentation because of genre, I don't hear it.

Partner for Rielly?
I could be talked into anything at this point.
age/contract a concern.
probably a pass
Parayko's a real interesting player. He's huge, he skates beautifully, he defends well, he has a big shot, he carries the puck in transition more than almost anyone, but not a driver of offence and the Blues don't have the right partner for him

I'm just finding it hilarious because I think he's the best Canadian songwriter of all time, and outside of Canada the three things he's know best for are:
- U2 mentioning his lyrics in one of their own songs
- The Bare Naked Ladies covering one of his songs
- the theme he wrote to a cartoon is now being compared to a Beyonce song.
Like FFS, can we not give this guy his due?

I have my fair number of guys I thought would be great over the years . . . Hodgson, Downie, Turris, Barker. On that 2004-05 team, that was just plain stacked, I did really like Dawes, Phaneuf and Coburn. For a while it looked like I was at least right about Phaneuf. Then time passed. And then more time. And then we just try not to talk about those days! From that tourney I did get a massive appreciation for Kopitar and Rask, so I'm not always an idiot - but it's a prevalent preoccupation of mine.

I was against it until I saw that when he paired with Krug, he was excellent. For some reason they moved him away from Krug and put him with guys like Scandella, Mikkola and so on . . .maybe being with Rielly would be the gear he needs.

I do think Dion was at least a little underrated towards the end of his tenure with the Leafs.
Prime Dion would be nice for this team right about now..not at that cap hit though |

Was a few weeks ago and Parayko was mentioned, Kipper did throw in he hears he does have back issues.
I don't know how much we should listen to Kipper but that does worry me a little. |
