It's not just him. Listen to _everyone_ on the Oilers broadcast. They all have to constantly pump the Oilers tires. It's like that Twilight Zone episode where they're all afraid of being wished away into the cornfield.

I saw a game a month ago where some kid - 24 or 25 or something like that - was playing his first NHL game and they had a 4 minute segment talking about how great the kid was. He played like 5 minutes in the game, if that. You _never_ saw him.

Every time I see that guy on TV I get a weird vibe like I'm looking at a big time criminal with mental health issues for some reason. Feels like I'm looking at a serial killer who just hasn't got caught or something - not sure why but his stare to me looks like he's trying to look right through the camera into your soul.

I also noticed the camera guy seems to keep a tight shot on him, even when he isn't talking which in itself is super weird so maybe that's why his stare seems so creepy.

I mean if you just go and stare at someone in the eyes and say nothing and have this 1000 yard stare on your face eventually you creep out people.

Alternative explanation is that he's higher than a kite on camera and between the on air appearances he is out in the loading dock going full Snoop Dog on a bong or something.

I don't think the Leafs need to make a move for goaltending.

Sammy seems to have found his game more or less, Woll is at least a great backup if not a 1B (simply because he is coming back from a long layoff with his injury) and Jones is fine for insurance. No point in trading assets to get another goalie IMO however............

If the rumour I have read more than once now is true and MAF actually would accept a trade to the Leafs my heart says yes I want him as a Leaf.

My brain says probably not (depending the price) but I am a huge MAF fan and if Sammy implodes or Woll's recovery just isnt' where it needs to be (or god forbid both) having MAF as the 2nd part of a 1A / 1B tandem is pretty delicious sounding to me.

Plus he would have a sick set of gear or 2 - he's one of the few remaining true goalie gear whores who ends up with multiple sets in different colour ways and as a goalie i dig that vs the almost all pain white look that most goalies sport now.

Mrazek was / is another gear whore and he had quite a few different sets/looks in Toronto - his black with blue set that he wore with the black 3rd jerseys was super nice as was his vintage St. Pats set up.

You and Fake were right...now all i can hope for is that this is a "We will never trade PK Subban" type of smoke screen (but it's not). Maybe he gets signed by the Leafs in the off season as the 1B to Woll and they watch Sammy walk away & let the Beast mature in the AHL some more.

You really think so? I watch a decent amount of the Oilers due to geographical proximity and I've always found their commentators to be bearable. Definitely not Stauffer, but Singh and DeBrusk seem good. I know some Oiler fans that HATE how neutral they are.

We've had Hughson, Neale, Cuthbert, Simpson - none of whom are pro-Leaf, although Cuthbert really feels very neutral when he calls a game - I like him.
