Love the quick signing if he keeps playing the way he has been. Still leaves me concerned for the future though that we don't have any kids that can take the role

I think Garand is a legit prospect. I can’t imagine they are disappointed with his growth so far.

Any thoughts on potential of getting Okposo? Saw somewhere could be a potential. Wouldn’t think he would cost much.
- SouthernRanger

Zero interest in his old arse. Its a move for the sake of making a move. I dont think it makes us better, just fills a gap.

Im beginning to wonder that the deadline is gonna go down to the wire of GMs negotiating up and down, calling each others bluffs. I dont think you'll see Drury do anything until the day of.

Don't be shocked if Rempe gets a game for his hit on Lyubushkin. Came a long way, puck was gone, left his feet, contact was high
- airjan23

Yeah he jumped into him. Dirty hit, for sure. If it was a Leafs player laying that hit, he’d get four games. Rempe likely a $5K fine, lol

Enlighten this old man...what is Kakko providing that Vatrano wouldn't? I was specifically watching KK last night and didn't notice anything that convinces me to keep him around. I feel bad for the kid but gotta call it what it is.

The concern I have with Vatrano is yes, hes been massively successful with the Ducks, however he is a lefty playing on his natural left side, shooting at a % that just seems unsustainable. Then he's gonna come to NY, were going to ask him to play on his off side, he wont be playing on the PP where he scores a bunch of his goals, into a situation thats pretty rough with Mika, while setting expectations that he will surely not be able to meet. Thus causing an uproar from Rangers fans that we shouldn't have given up on Kakko, because without a shadow of a doubt, as soon as Kakko puts on another teams jersey, he will start scoring. Also, trading Kakko creates a hole at 3RW unless youre comfortable playing Vesey there.

Nothing. Kakko is just Finnish Curtis Lazar. Keep him, trade him. I don't care. Tired of watching him in spots that Laviolette gives him and continues to not seize the job.

If they traded Kakko, are you ok with Vesey in that spot?

Vesey can go. He doesn’t have a spot on this team IMO.

What's the difference between the two? Virtually nothing.

Vesey has been worth 1 full win for this team. Kakko? Half win. So you're wrong, but nothing new from you.

When did I compare Vesey to Kakko? When this team is complete, we don’t need Vesey. He’s a stop gap player and nothing more.

I'd rather keep Vesey over Kakko at this point.

Thats why Im saying, if we trade Kakko, are we ok with Vesey being the 3RW or do you think we need a subsequent trade for 3RW?

I think there is another deal. Have mentioned this before, everyone is hot and bothered for Vatrano and highlights how he played when he arrived in New York last time. Please go back and look what he did the last two plus playoff series and then come back to me. He certainly helps and is a shot first winger, but if you don't think Kakko helps defensively and is perfect on the third line, you haven't been watching and paying attention to the games.

I am neither for, nor against anything, I am only piquing the brains secondary to a Kakko trade. Because we fill one gap and potentially create another. Which is why I ask, if we trade Kakko are we happy with Vesey being the 3RW or do we need another trade? Are we happy enough with what the combo of Edstrom and Rempe has brought to the lineup that maybe Vesey potentially has become expendable?

That would not be good. Kurashev may be the only one to look at.

IB Gambler is posting old tweets - like from 2014 -about Pinto hating the Rangers. Odd timing

yea that’s it really (looking at their roster)
I guess in theory it would make some sense because he’s signed for next year at a decent cap hit. He’s offense is better than Kakko. Not sure it moves the needle enough tho, as they say
