Well he clearly does because he's not driving the play this year.

Drury should have listened to me and got Eichel lol

Are you saying he doesn’t take hockey as his top priority?
- TPC

I’m not sure. I’m just presenting the possibility that his passion for the game may not be what it was when he started.

Well no matter what they are most likely stuck with him for the next 7 years so he better figure it out or they have no chance

And all this banter about Vatrano, and any other winger they bring in will succeed on their own ability. Mika doesn’t not make anyone better, he was a shoot 1st center who has clearly lost his way

He needs another threat so his shot isn’t easily defended. Both of them really. This is why the BLT line is so good, because it has 3 threats that can score.

I’m telling you right now, I’m not one to rub things in, but once this happens and they get RW, a lot of people are going to be eating crow. A lot. And not just here…I’ll be here to serve said crow too

I’ve eaten crow before and I’ll eat it again if I’m wrong on this

I’m not totally disagreeing with you, but truth is I could probably score a goal playing with bread lol. His true value aside from stats, is his ability to make everyone he plays with better.

The bread part is true and why I suggested moving Trocheck up with them and get a center for that line. Because truthfully most centers could play and succeed with Panarin and laf

I assume that would move Mika to the 3rd line? That a tough sell to the room at this point in the season, no matter how much sense it might make.

Noooooo - Kreider Zib Trocheck line. Trocheck takes faceoffs and they have the puck more.

Everything I say is outlandish tho

For arguments sake

Kreider Zib Trocheck
Panarin Henrique Laf
Cuylle Dowd/Brod Kakko
Goodrow Dowd/Brod Vesey

Isn’t bad imo

I want nothing to do with dowd. Not giving up a 1st Rounder for that. Price is crazy

I hope for his and the organizations sake, that Mika is not the next Anthony Rendon. Something has been telling that since the end of last years disaster.

He’ll have the remainder of the this season, including the playoffs for me to see I’m wrong.

Something is not right with him, and it’s between his ears. Hope it’s not in his chest and gut.

I just want to point out the zibby has a very young child, Its an understatement to say that it affected my ability to function at work. Not making excuses for him but

I don’t think he’d be that much. Lavy loves him I know that

I think a second rder tops. And you get two playoffs with him.

Laughton probably cost a first and that’s a no go from me

But it isnt good either. Youre taking the fabric that keeps Panarin and LAF together away. Pesky lil Trocheck makes that engine run. Hes a pest, he draws people to him with the way he plays. This gives more time to Panarin and LAF to make a play.

To move Brodz to 4th line only to trade for Dowd to be the 3C is a lateral move IMO. On top of the fact that the Caps will be looking for, at the very least, a 2nd round pick for Dowd. Neither Dowd nor Brodz really move the needle on elevating the games of Cuylle and Kakko in the way that Henrique would. With that 2nd it would cost us to get Dowd, we could probably get a legit RW for 93/20.

Yea but look what I gave up? Not much. And Center depth out the waaaz

The idea that Trocheck is the only center who can play with them/him is silly. Strome did a fine job there.

Again it’s my idea so it’s dumb. My life on HB🤷🏻‍♂️

What were you referring to when you said it would be “astronomically bad” getting Vatrano? Wasn’t it via the charts you thought that?

Haha gotcha then. The only problem with Wheels is the price to get him, that’s what would be astronomical and forced to walk away from

Look at what you gave up? You think that because you posted something online that that will be what real NHL GMs would want in a deal? Its been well documented that the Caps are looking for a late 1st for Dowd. You're also likely not getting Henrique without a 1st or a 2nd and an high end prospect. Come on man.

Also... stop with this sad boy nonsense.

lol I didnt post any trade. I’m just making a general statement that those two won’t cost crazy assets to get

Henrique is 100% a conditional second rder and maybe Berard or Sykora or lesser guy at the most

Dowd for a 3rd and prospect

Hey we’ll find out soon enough what these guys cost no matter where they go

Not a chance, hes become a bit of a "cultish" player lately and hes signed for an additional year. These things, as much as you dont like it, do elevate a players value.

We’ll see in a few days what these guys cost.
Most people thought Tanev would nab a first rder and he didn’t.
