Bills are looking at Torrence Armstrong DE from Dallas as a potential FA
Justin Simmons could be on the Radar to, but he would be a tough one |

Not arguing this, he was 5 months too late no doubt.
You also weren’t getting a Bo Byram 5 months ago though either.
We all knew he has been in on several d-men over the course of the past couple of years, he finally closed on one.
Quite frankly, a 22 year old Bowen Byram could actually be the best option also. Time will tell - Swedish_Jesus
Do you think this was his first trade where he didn’t trade away the better player?

Will anyone care about this if he makes good on his word and makes further additions to the team in the summer time and we get going in the right direction ? - Swedish_Jesus

I would have did it, we need a Crouse more than another midget. - Buff36
I would have done Savoie +, just not 3 pieces.
I like Savoie myself, but you are spot on with the need of a bigger, more physical guy who can still pop 20.
Now we hear he went after Logan Coture at 35 with 3 seasons left at $8m with modified NTC.
I mean, I like the player, but his best days are in the past.
I guess that Crouse could be an option to revist in the offseason...maybe in '25 since thae trade idea needs 18 months to fully bake. |

The guy could pop 35-40 here cleaning up in front with all the Perimeter Talent we have |

For savoie though? No thanks.
If I’m getting another tuch or Bobby Ryan type player. Sure. Savoie can go.
But crouse is more of a greenway then a Bobby Ryan or tuch - Sabretooth9
crouse 64 goals in the last 3 seasons
greenway 25 goals in the last 3 seasons
tuch has 65 goals in the last 3 seasons, 1 more than crouse
take the L on this one |

if adams is really looking for a 3rd line vet center then we can assume a few things
1. krebs is nothing more than a 4th line player
2. none of these prospects picked in the first or 2nd round can be a third line center
3. our drafting sucks in the first 2 rounds |

Great topic on WGR the other day.
When was the last time in Buffalo a star player left on good terms?
I can’t think of any Sabres player that was a star that left on good terms dating all the way back to Michael Peca.
If you are a career fourth liner that was supposed to come in and be this amazing player you are treated like royalty though |

Mitts is the more impactful player today, Byram has the higher ceiling.
It’s this decades Ryan Johansen for Seth Jones trade |

Its not a big deal. A lot of teams have traded their captains at one time or another.
Want a list?
4 of the 5 last leaf captains went on to play somewhere else.
Doug Gilmour
Mats Sundin
Dion Phaneuf
Wendel Clark
The fourth? Tavares and there is a good chance he plays somewhere else too. |

There is a massive difference between trading your captain and players leaving on bad terms. |

Johansen was a 1C at the time but wasn’t a guy you’d label a legitimate 1C.
Mitts by TOI has technically been our 1C this year but everyone would agree he’s probably a 2C in the right situation.
Seth Jones was stuck behind Ryan Suter and Shea Weber in Nashville (heck they even had Josi coming into his own at that point too)
Byram was never getting top pairing minutes with Toews and Makar in Colorado.
It’s almost identical to a tee |

Sabres have a roster full of Soft Talented Perimeter players, very few willing to crash the boards and go to the net. Sabres need to add some Juice to that Talent. Players with some snarl who can works the boards and not afraid of the front of the net. With as many Perimeter shots as this team takes a few players like that would clean up in front. |

What captain left on bad terms that wasn't traded?
Many captains leave on bad terms. Captains get traded when teams are losing
I didn't see Okposo leaving on bad terms.
Brian Gionta didn't leave on bad terms
Jason Pominville didn't leave on bad terms

Not helping your Defense last year in November and December when they were ravaged by injuries. Missing your GM signal at the TDL last year that this Team with the right acquisitions could make the playoffs. Doing nothing in the Offseason except give free Fluffs every Sunday at the BBQ. Instead of using your plethora of assets and cap space to go and find success you shoved it back up Terry's A$$ after leaving for Vacation July 10th - Buff36
Here's a run rabbit hole to dive into: If Donnie doesn't pound the table for Greenway at last season's trade deadline, is Adams biggest move Bloom for Stillman?
Was that all Adams was going to do?
Imagine how that trade deadline would've looked if he didn't pull off the Greenway move?
Would the Sabres have been better off without Greenway this season? |
