Probably true. I just think of Dahlin as sort of punk. A little bit of agitator in him. I think that can be a distraction on the ice while also wearing the C. Just my 2 cents. - Buffalo--Sabres
Agreed
Tuch seams like a more mature choice for sure |

Said this awhile ago... He needs to view his Players and Prospects as Assets to be used in winning.
He let's his relationship get in the way of Business Decisions. - IonSabres
He hasn't really used an asset to improve the team yet in any significant way. Best you could argue is Greenway. A late 2nd isn't much, and they probably overpaid, given his salary.
Like Boss said, let's see if it's all talk. Maybe Friday will be a good day.

he deserves it
easily top 10 wr over the last 5 years, 2nd in td catches
my fear was he was going to sign with the texans this spring - homiedclown
Yeah, I heard CJ was trying to entice him and there was mutual interest there. Texans may be a force next year even without him though. I really like Stroud. |

I find it interesting in thinking about the fate of Okposo and Girgensons at the TDL.
If they remain, it is likely driven by their preference to stay. What does that say about their desire to win a Stanley Cup? It is likely their last opportunity to compete for one, maybe Girgs gets an offer from some team at the Vet minimum... But I don't see them being signed by a contending team next season. So, being traded to one this season IMO is their best chance.
Staying out means they are happy to be career losers. |

Couple good points but I’ll counter:
Maybe okposo and Girgensons have very little value
Maybe there just isn’t a trade market for them?
Why weren’t they moved last trade deadline? Both were ufas . They could have been traded and resigned this off season.
I like both these guys still, but what serious Stanley cup team is going to trade for Kyle okposo
Girgs still does a consistent job of being an nhl grinder . Playoffs could be his sweat spot

They were in the race last year, so that doesn't seem relevant.
I don't think they are looking for value for them, so it just comes down to 'does someone want them' and 'do they want to go'. Why wouldn't they want to is a fair question.

His game will translate well as a grinder in the PO. Will bring energy as 13th when called upon.
Okposo would be a depth player only ... 13th / 14th F. He has heated up at the best time for sure.
Many teams more interested in D depth at the TDL though. |

I'm not so sure there aren't teams who would play them. Most playoff teams have vet minimum guys or ELC's filling out those spots.

I thought we were in a fairly similar position in the standings last year . Heard something about the same amount of wins recently.
I’m not sure if anyone really wants okposo ?
Girgs game translates to the nhl playoffs more imo

Laat year we flirted with a playoff spot from Christmas untill the trade deadline. Points might be the same but situationally its not
The sabres will need to retain in order to trade any of 21 28 and 6. We know how that goes |

Last time this fan group idolized a prospect/rookie for working hard was Girgs.
The numbers support the fact that he should be sent down.
4 points since January 1st with while playing consistent top 6 minutes, not very helpful.
It's the Sabres though so a player who works hard is a rare sighting, the adoration is understandable.

March is where they killed themselves last season. TDL was 3/3.

Sabres have a lot of regulation wins this year, and few overtimes. |

Pretty much, got his money. Money talks because he had set a deadline for Extension talks with Tampa. |

Agree, but he's a decent WR to. Speed doesn't matter if you can't Catch the ball or learn the play book. John Ross comes to mind. |
