Again, when you have players that are still young and fit your system, of course you will want to extend them if the term and price is right. What you and others don't understand is that a rebuild does not mean everyone on the team has to be 21 years old. - jd250
seeler and walker are young? where do they fit into the "rebuild" timeline? a 31 and 30 year old dman.
they have you hook line and sinker.
what you do not understand is this isn't a rebuild. not one person said the need to be under 21. Nothing they have done indicates a rebuild so far |

nice win keep the pressure on danny boy.
very shocked CC didnt have the sens all fired up and ready to play. - hello it's me 2050
He is not the captain so he should not have to. The captain and only the captain is able to "fire up" the team and make all of the players magically better.

I'd favor Walker being moved if it's between the two of them. I just think he would bring the bigger return. I'm not sure that Seeler by himself would bring back more than a 3rd round pick. I would think Walker would fetch at least a second rounder and perhaps a first if a bidding war ensues. - Phillywhiteout
who has a better chance of regressing or falling off in time? Seeler or walker |

Also the Flyers left sided defense depth is awful. I don’t think much of Zamula and there is nothing after Andrae currently in the system. - psuhockey
would a laughton and florida 1st get Chyckrun..... |

Good for Barkey! Rizzo still not signed. I have a sinking feeling he may want to test free agency instead of signing. - jd250
based on the fact he said it when he was carolina property? I would test it as well at this stage. |

Given the Bruins and Vancouver have taken a step back recently and the Flyers still have a better than 50% of making the playoffs, at least for now before the deadline, is it time to really consider Torts as the Jack Adams front runner? - jd250
Some in Canada seem to think so. |

I might do that….legit #1 talent. Only 25. I guess it depends on asking price…might be better offers then that. |

Seeler is easily replaced. A lot of D-man are left handed and can block shots while moving the puck well. He should be traded if they are offered a 3rd or better.

I think Torts has done a great job….so has Tocc….I heard Bryan Burke the other day make a great point. Torts probably deserves it but the Flyers record will probably not be good enough by the end of the year. |

I don’t listen to anything Brian Burke says. If you think Torts is bad, Burke is as bad. I think it comes down to Tocchet and Torts I will agree. |

I think the can get a 2nd or a young prospect that they like for him….bring another guy in for Shaw to work with…he’s done a nice job with Seeler. I watched Ceci last night for EDM …not sure why I keep hearing his name as throw in…he looked pretty good last night. |

Burke’s takes are a little old school but I still respect his thoughts. (As long as the Flyers don’t hire him) |

Rizzo is a middle of the road, dime a dozen prospect. If he signs great, if not, it wont be a huge loss. He is another in a vast pool of Flyers bottom six prospects. There is a reason he was drafted in the 7th round.
I hope he succeeds but he is nothing special in the grand scheme.

I mean, between the two I'd rather keep Walker as far as talent goes, but I don't think Seeler is really gonna bring much back cause he really is pretty much a run of the mill defender.

A legit number 1 talent on his 3rds team and only 25? Something is not right here. I would pass.

That is why I say these awards are popularity contest. If the award is to define the best coaching job, why does the team have to be a President's trophy candidate? It makes no sense. |

I think that is the line "3rd" but it depends on the team too, a late 3rd? Candidly, if they are playing well and they pass on a 3rd for Seeler, I wont cry much, as long as they don't do an overpay extension. They keep both Walker and Seeler, that is a problem, they better have a surprise #1 D and #1C coming in, lol.

flyers have no center depth. he should absolutely be signed. see what he can do. also this vats pool has yet to produce really anything meaningful!!! see the 4th line....
where he was drafted what 4 years ago is meaningless at this point. |

Granted Rizzo is 22 years playing against 19 year olds, but given the Flyers lack of depth at center, I would the Flyers to give him a shot. He looked good in the live game I saw play earlier this season and is having a strong year. |

he has done nothing. has not traded one player of value that helps a "rebuild". thy will re-sign instead of trade. the fact you really think they are rebuilding is funny as hell. |

then you need to extend him. probably have to add a little on the flyers end. Yes someone may beat that offer |

It still matters for context and as a starting point for evaluation. IMO he is an AHL/NHL tweener like Peter White. Sure, we need all the center prospects we can find so I hope he DOES sign. But I'm not going to lose sleep over a middling prospect putting up decent numbers as an older player in the NCAA.

re-signing seeler and walker gets you no closer to a cup where the flyers are at.
they will command between the 2 close to or at 8 million. That 8 million would be better spent on an "impact" dman.
Flyers believe in depth over elite talent. |
