He will never be a second line center in the NHL for a contending team. Too soft and he doesn't look to shoot enough. This is why Torts gets pissed at him. He could be even better than what you just said if he was in the middle of the play all the time. Too much time on the perimeter and that's what I saw last night. I'll lay it out there for all to see. I'm guessing that he will be invisible against Florida on Thursday night too. Forst just isn't the type of guy that will have success come playoff time IMO. - Phillywhiteout
Frost is a playmaker more than a goal scorer. Saying he doesn't shoot enough is an inaccurate criticism. He also is not soft. He is one of the better forwards defensively away from the puck on the team. He is also not a perimeter player. When given consistent ice time, he produces. Frost has had strong games against playoff level teams including in two games against TB, against Winnipeg, Dallas and Colorado |

No they weren't. The Flyers two best forwards offensively in the game were Foerster and Farabee. Farabee had a bad turnover leading to a goal but otherwise played a solid game. Laughton had a solid game also. Tortorella is overplaying role players. - MJL
Torts: “Hey Joel, would you like us to trade you to the Blues?”
Farabee: “No coach, why?”
Torts: “ Because you’re playing for them tonight” |

Was clamoring for them to take Perrault over Bonk big time. Bonk may turn out to be okay, but Perrault's potential upside is much higher. Sometimes ya gotta swing for the fences. I just hope this kid doesn't destroy the Flyguys every time they meet the Rags in the years to come. Puck Cutter!! - Phillywhiteout
Maybe they viewed MM as the swing for the fences, and Bonk was more of a safe pick? |

I don't have an issue with the Bonk pick...even if he just turns into a Coburn type player. Solid player with the odd offensive flare. |

Same. I was shocked and somewhat angry when he was there and the Flyers passed on him.
Bonk is having a pretty good year, but all Perrault does is produce wherever he goes.

He is, but Perrault was the kind of "swing for the fences" high ceiling type of player they need. Especially with how thin they are at high end forward in the pipeline.
That being said. There is a flip side to that. Some say that because he was going to be playing with Gauthier, that Gauthier would be in his ear all year about how he shouldn't play for Philly. Some say that influenced their decision to not pick him and go for Bonk instead.
The world may never know. |

I’d think maybe they could utilize farabee as the bumper on the pp? He can pass the puck in a variety of ways. |

yep even if he is a bust I take that package every time. Bonk to me will be at best a solid 2nd pair guy. rather take the shot with the elite level talent. Flyers seem to be adverse to that overall.
where did you see that at in bold? interesting take never heard of it before |

Nick Seeler was at the team meal this morning so that means he is good to go.
Not a good look at all if he is too hurt to play but eating and laughing with the team. He needs to be sulking in his room and on a hunger strike. |

Bonk had more trade value than Perrault with how much demand there is for right handed defensemen. If the Flyers really wanted to do something bold (big if) Bonk could be used for that. |

Last night it became pretty apparent just how cooked Cam Atkinson is. He's either not fully recovered his neck injury, nursing another injury, or he's just lost that critical step and quickness that made him an effective player throughout his earlier career. I don't think he won 1 50/50 puck last night. He's having difficulty just making a pass at this point. |

I'm curious to see what happens to Perreault when he doesn't have Smith and Leonard to play with. They've been together for years... it's near impossible to properly evaluate any of them, but especially Gabe. |

He’s had a solid career and there should be no shame finishing out in LHV next year. Be a mentor for a year help the kids out

Weird to see some of the same people who dog on Frost daily lusting after Perreault.
Gabe is basically a smaller, slower version of Frost. |

I'd put Foerster in with those guys and he actually had the most ice time among forwards. He was a threat almost every time that he was on the ice. Little Frosty was scared to go near the net. Coots is hurt and Atkinson is cooked. Tippett made some plays and the rest were invisible. Oh, except for Farabee when he made that hellacious pass to set up that dynamic Hayes goal on which he tripped over himself and scored his first goal in 19 games. - Phillywhiteout
Very true, Foerster generated chances and played his typical solid 200 foot game. |

He has been the teams 2nd leading scorer over the last 30 games, only behind Konecny. Playing like a solid 2nd line center over that period of time. - MJL

Ok, we know you arent a farabee fan. Who would you have rather the flyers drafted in the spot if not him? - bradster
It has nothing to do with the draft. Farabee was the right pick where the Flyers were picking him. I just don't think he developed into a great player. Like I said, he is an OK player with OK skills. I don't think the team would miss him all that much. |

We don't need the playoffs, we are seeing it right now. When the team is in games like last night, Frost is a non factor. TK has been out for several games and Frost has not IMO stepped up when the team desperately needs him and other forwards to do.

What’s going on with Couturier? Doesn’t get a shift in OT? Maybe 12 minutes of ice time in the game. Is he hurt? Worn out? In Torts doghouse? Weird to for the coach to decide he sucks right after they make him captain. |
