Actually I have a question for you. First I hope you had a pleasant weekend. Now previously you posted that you thought Frost is a 3C. As we all know, I am documented at one point early last year as doubting Frost's ability to translate to the NHL and thought he might be an AHL tweener. Now I think we both agree that Frost will never and should never be a 4th liner in the NHL, that he should playing in the top 9 in the NHL. I think we also agree that in the AHL Frost would be a top line center. So here is my question. How much difference is there really between an AHL 1C and a NHL 3C? - jd250
Actually that's not what I said. What I said is that I THINK that ultimately Frost will wind up as a 3C on a scoring line. Actually Frost over the last 25 games or so has been producing at a 2C level.
As far as your final question, that's a pretty stupid question. Someone as invested in the game of hockey as you are, should know the answer to that question.

Well, let's just say it needs some work. But look on the bright side, I do believe there is some accountability on coaching, for example zone entries can certainly be something that is coached up. Oh wait, the Flyers are actually much better now at zone entries on the PP than they were last year or early this year. So I guess the coaching is actually working. - jd250
coaching and system are 100% part of their success. to say otherwise is wrong.
in your fantasy defend the flyers 99% of time world |

I would like to see what Frost and Drysdale can do together ala Giroux and Timonen. I’m not saying they’ll be as good but if Frost can slow things down on the half wall and create his own space, he could very well be a difference maker on the PP. |

So would I, though by most accounts it seems that a 1st round pick is the common theme. - MBFlyerfan
for sure but what is the added part!!! most credible sources saying it is high on all. |

If the Canes go grab Guentzel, Tarasenko or Buchnevich I can see Antti Raanta and Jesper Fast fitting that criteria for dirt cheap. - BINGO!
I’m not saying the Flyers will take a run at Tarasenko or anyone along those lines (they shouldn’t), I sure do miss the days of a deadline add, such as Tony Amonte or Adam Oates. |

If the flyers just had a league average PP (20.8%) they'd have 15 more goals. That would put them in the top 1/3 of the league in scoring. - atibus

Zone entries have been much better overall this season. The problems: no netfront presence , no consistent bumper or flank finisher. - bmeltzer Bingo! No net front presence. I've been moaning about this all season. They have NO ONE near the opponents net when they are on the PP. They scored against the Caps on the PP. Guess why? Cause Farabee was in front screening the goalie. How can this not be understood...pucks and bodies to the net!! Thanks! |

It’s going to be hysterical when they don’t trade anyone, add a vet and still miss the playoffs. |

taken from elsewhere:
Friedman on 32 Thoughts:
- Philly likely to add a CHEAP goaltender and veteran forward at the deadline.
- they will not budge on contract or trade negotiations. Friedman expects Laughton to stay in Philly.
- said he heard on Sunday that Philly has their eyes on the playoffs and want to acquire pieces to make that happen, but not high end assets used to acquire it.
- said they touched on Zegras, but they don’t want to spend the assets to acquire.
- although there’s a bunch of noise regarding Seeler, Walker, and Laughton, if teams don’t match, then they’re not moving. Philly also won’t budge on contracts negotiations. Walker wants 5 years likely around 30 mil and Philly doesn’t want to go that long. Seeler wants somewhere above 3 and Philly doesn’t want to go that high.
He expressed a little concern that they’re backing themselves into a corner. If they won’t play ball, then it fully comes down to how Briere can handle everything caving in at once. - hello it's me 2050
Exactly what I DON'T want them to do. |

would really love to know the value they place on laughton, walker, and seeler. - hello it's me 2050
I still think this is just posturing. I can't see anyway Seeler and Walker are both on the roster after Friday. One will be moved. I think it will be Walker
Laughton is different. I could see where maybe they move him at the draft when more teams can be involved.
I could also see the Flyers a acquire picks or maybe a prospect by being a facilitator as well. Be that third party to take on cap space to help and deal and then get a prospect or picks.

If I’m Seeler’s agent I don’t give the Flyers an inch. Tortorella loves blocked shots and he leads the league. |

See the only way I see that working is if they plan to either trade someone or your bringing in a depth forward to play instead of Deslarurier and maybe Atkinson the way has has played.. |

My biggest peeve is there isn't a move to be made that gives this team a shot at a run in the playoffs.
No "cheap" forward is making me feel confident they'd beat Carolina (assuming the current standings hold.) Nor will a vet goalie. |

On the other end then, his skill fits what the flyers do. He isn't as valuable then for maybe another team and their system.
I get he is trying to cash in but you also can't overplay your hand.

i thought since they resurrected his career there was small chance he gives them a little discount.
also the fact they probably give him a job post hockey he might take a tad less. |

But there aren't back to backs in the playoffs. At the very least it's a rarity. I feel that's more in case Ersson gets injured. Even is Ersson struggles say in games 1 and 2, like getting blown out, what cheap goalie is out there that can help? Jake Allen? I don't necessarily view that a scrapheap acquisition. |

Flyers generally are happy to overpay to secure the player that they want.
Seeler is playing it smart. |

I'll just sit and see what happens. Maybe we are all just getting Fletcher vibes. But i'll let this play out before I complain about moves not made yet.

not about the playoffs to me, take some pressure off the rookie goalie in general. |
