My biggest peeve is there isn't a move to be made that gives this team a shot at a run in the playoffs.
No "cheap" forward is making me feel confident they'd beat Carolina (assuming the current standings hold.) Nor will a vet goalie. - Pelle31Forever

not about the playoffs to me, take some pressure off the rookie goalie. - hello it's me 2050
I think Woll is back in Toronto. I could see something where Martin Jones is waived and Flyers claim him to back up Ersson |

i think they carry all 3 to be safe, unless they acquire another goalie. |

Could. I was just trying to find an example of a vet they could look at.

I mentioned Jones the other day as a target. Walker or Laughton going that way, not sure what the rest would look like. |

many people f all ages where depends for a variety of reasons. Boomer, how fn lame is that? - hello it's me 2050
You make up nicknames for people based on TV shows that haven't been in the public lexicon in 30+ years yet being called a boomer is lame. Well at least it's current.

Most teams will want three vet goalies going into the POs.
It's gonna cost. |

taken from elsewhere:
Friedman on 32 Thoughts:
- Philly likely to add a CHEAP goaltender and veteran forward at the deadline.
- they will not budge on contract or trade negotiations. Friedman expects Laughton to stay in Philly.
- said he heard on Sunday that Philly has their eyes on the playoffs and want to acquire pieces to make that happen, but not high end assets used to acquire it.
- said they touched on Zegras, but they don’t want to spend the assets to acquire.
- although there’s a bunch of noise regarding Seeler, Walker, and Laughton, if teams don’t match, then they’re not moving. Philly also won’t budge on contracts negotiations. Walker wants 5 years likely around 30 mil and Philly doesn’t want to go that long. Seeler wants somewhere above 3 and Philly doesn’t want to go that high.
He expressed a little concern that they’re backing themselves into a corner. If they won’t play ball, then it fully comes down to how Briere can handle everything caving in at once. - hello it's me 2050
I could see them adding a vet who’s over paid….a guy whom a team needs to dump for cap purposes….and maybe add an asset that way… maybe DB shouldn’t have taken lessons from Fletcher at last years deadline. If DB does drop the ball at his first full deadline I’m not sure I would call it incompetence….but maybe a tad “green”

Would you take Campbell from the Oilers in a deal for Walker if it got you their 1st rounder?
He has 3 more years after this year at 5 million but he can be our vet back up for the future and just maybe he rebounds to gain some value to eventually trade in the future?

That’s way to big of a gamble for that cap hit and term imo. |

Apparently that’s why they kept Jones up after Woll came back…instead they sent Robertson down to protect Jones …..they know a team like Philly would pounce. Considering how the Leafs goaltending has gone this year, it no surprise they want to keep all 3. |

But if it's a rebuild, does it matter?
I think Campbell has a little more track record then Peterson. Didn't Peterson get paid off one strong season? Not sure so correct me if I am wrong.

So more like Campbell, 1st rounder and Broberg. |

can be both. he went to Wharton though.....I lean more towards incompetence. |

I rather deal walker separately. Unless it id real good value coming back.
Not sure that package does it. Broberg is more of a suspect than prospect. No issue taking a chance with him mind you. |

Honestly we don't know yet.
Let's see how this week goes. But also not everything needs to be at this TDL. They do have the offseason to also make moves.

Actually that's not what I said. What I said is that I THINK that ultimately Frost will wind up as a 3C on a scoring line. Actually Frost over the last 25 games or so has been producing at a 2C level.
As far as your final question, that's a pretty stupid question. Someone as invested in the game of hockey as you are, should know the answer to that question. - MJL
priceless! I wasn't asking for me, I was asking for a friend.

80% of the blame is on the players. Once you get to higher levels of play, the PP is pretty much driven by the creativity and talent of the players out there. Look at the Flyers PP most nights, do you honestly think Torts or Rocky are coaching the players to pass the puck around the perimeter or fire it around the boards without getting a good shot?
The top 5 PPs in the league this season are:
1. Tampa
2. Leafs
3. Hurricanes
4. Oilers
5. Panthers
Now what do all these teams have in common? - jd250
Good coaching
