This is an easy slam dunk trade deadline for Briere.

Very concerning that there is any consternation.

While we still have 2 days....Everything I was worried about going into this season is coming true.

Would the front office have the stomach to do a true rebuild even if the fans were putting pressure?

Would they truly sell off at the deadline even if they had a chance to make the playoffs?

I think they believe their own hype when they see that they have the #1 rated prospect in hockey (deserved) and the #6 ranked prospect pool in the NHL (most decidedly NOT deserved).

They say they owe it to the players, those same players they say they cant fall in love with.

They have two days to show the fans they are in this for the long haul and not blow up the whole process for some 1 and done playoff run.

If they sign Seeler, I can almost live with that. If they sign Walker, we will know the whole rebuilding thing is BS. If they sign them both, the team is just giving the finger to the fan base and telling us to (frank) off.

We will revisit this Saturday morning when its all over I guess.

you ok with seeler for 4 years at 3 million?

If the Flyers would actually believe that the plan is years away from coming to fruition, that is something that everyone should be comfortable with. The talk of the Flyers escalating with trades and free agency should terrify every Flyers fan.

Indeed. This team is not in a position where they can honestly say they are just one or two players away from being legitimate contenders. They are not. They are a good team that plays hard but they are not equipped to make deep runs. Drysdale and York need a couple more years to reach their potential. They are still in need of a legit top pairing. They have no legit 1C and arguably do not have a legit 2C at the moment. Perhaps Frost can become that but again, like York and JD, time is needed. By the time all of that happens, if it happens, Walker and Seeler and Laughton will be well in the rear view mirror. Then, if all the stars align, they draft well, develop well and do it the right way, and Michkov gets here and is ready to take the league by storm, then the Flyers can be that team who may legitimately say “we are just one or two players away”. Until then, STAY THE COURSE. please!

What I am not comfortable with 1. counting on Michkov coming here while this stupid war continues and 2. counting on the top prospects in the organization developing into top end players. With 2, we have seen this movie before in 2018.

You watch this team play and you see a squad that did not nee to tear it down to the studs….but you see a team that lacks “high end” talent in comparison. I love the team…but realize it’s only capable of reaching the height it’s at now. I was told DB would make those “tough” decisions. Up till now that appears to be the BS that Jonesy referred to.
For christs sake is it too much to ask these guys to do their (frank)ing job?

You are right we’ll know shortly.

I think a measure of patience is required at this point. I sincerely hope the Flyers trade Walker, Seeler and if anyone wants him Staal at this deadline. Extending Walker or Seeler for more than 2 years makes ZERO sense to me. However I will give this leadership this off-season also and evaluate what the team is going to look like going into next season before I conclude the new boss (or bosses) is the same as the old boss.

You may not be comfortable with it but there is no choice. The war in Ukraine has zero to do with anything involving Michkov. The movie we have seen over and over is the Flyers incompetence.

Now you're calling for patience? No quick rebuilds? Do you still feel as though they can get there in a few years?

I mean Jones has stated that watching the team this year clearly shows they are not close to being a contending team. So why extend anyone at this point, except maybe TK who I think the Flyers should keep. How many times can we see the Flyers get 35+ shots a game and barely score 2 goals, and see fruitless PP after fruitless PP. I also believe the Flyers should move on from Frost and Farabee this off season if not sooner to get more assets in the coming drafts or good prospects.

I am calling for patience in judging Briere and Jones past this deadline and into the off season. I have not changed my opinion that this team does not need to tear it down to the studs, they have some good young players and good players coming up. Thus I don't think this has to be a long, drawn out rebuild. I don't want to be Chicago, Arizona, or Buffalo.

LOL, why should they move on from Frost and Farabee? You don't make any sense. You want to keep the soon to be 27 year old player but trade the two younger promising players. You don't make any sense. Your unsupported silly biases cause you to make stupid statements. If you're trading Frost and Farabee, they you might as well trade everyone and break it down.

Just a short time ago, you said the below.

"What bothers me is its been reported that the Flyers believe they have good players coming up in their system plus they have Michkov coming. That's years away if it ever happens at all. Not a plan I am comfortable with."

You're all over the place.

Because I don't think they are very good and the Flyers can do better.

It's in black and white. The person who reversed his position with no awareness of even doing so in the space of about an hour. Is the idiot. You are an unintelligent person. That simple. You not only lack any hockey knowledge but you lack common sense. For example, you don't even know what OK means.
