I just don’t want to hear “he was our leading scorer for the second half of the season” two year straight.

Lol buckle up, a very random sample size is coming

The only flaws that are outlined daily is your continued ignorance of NHL hockey. What do you think this is, a pee-wee game where everyone gets their minutes no matter what? Torts is trying to WIN GAMES, and thus he is going to play the players that have it going that night the most minutes. Cam is cooked, everyone knows it. He is at the stage of ND for me, cringe worthy every time he is on the ice. I liked Lkysell and Brink with Couts and I would like to see more of it, however Couts is one of the players that has slumped recently, and as you know I was pointing this out months ago. Whether you want to admit it or not, Frost and Farabee are not getting the job done, unless of course you count what they are doing for the opposing team. Laughton and Poehling have been the Flyers most consistent centers over the past few weeks and thus they are getting the bulk of the ice time. These are the FACTS, not opinions. You need to accept it and learn.
- jd250

Vs western conference you go for the win, yes, Ryan P and Laughton lines are playing solid hockey. Meanwhile, you put Frost with Cam again, that is like being a man down, they move Farabee who is struggling with Frost (better than Cam) and ask Frost to lift that line. All that said, in OT watching Laughton and Ryan P chase around the Blues was priceless.

I think when Tk is back, Torts will put him with Coots, hope he keeps Lycksell and sits Cam.

Say it with me: He is a playmaker, not a goal scorer. But had 19 goals last year, and could do about that periodically in future seasons. Worry more about chance creation than his own scoring chances.
- bmeltzer

Bill, from my perspective Frost is a skilled NHL player that, though he is a pass first center, I believe is more than capable of finishing off plays when he is counted on to do so. He has missed his chances quite a bit lately and it has cost the team, especially with TK being out. He is not the only one for sure.

Wouldn't it be great if the players he constantly sets up could finish?

Yes, absolutely.

Frost has been stepping up for considerable amount of time now. He is the Flyers 2nd leading scorer over the last 30 games. Second only to Konecny. What makes you think that Ottawa is trading Pinto? Or are we playing fantasy hockey?
- MJL

If Torts didn't yo yo frost in and out of the line up for half the season I think frost would have way more swagger and points right now.

I'm with 2real. Giving up on frost would be a big mistake.

If torts let's frost play for an entire season next year I think we'd all see a much better version of frost. The kid has all of the talent to succeed

145 games isn't random. It's the entire sample since Torts became coach.

He's scored at 0.58 P/GP this season, so if he hadn't been healthy scratched 11 times he should have 6 more points.

I don't see it that way and I certainly would NEVER categorize him as a great player. We shall see I guess cause I wouldn't be shocked if he is at least shopped this off season.
- Phillywhiteout

sure we can shop frost but we need to get very good value for him in any deal I would only accept over payments

If he's trying to win games , explain starting Cates, Sanheim and Poehling in OT.
- Briere

That was BS and I called that out last night! I have said all along the best defense is a good offense, especially 3v3, and thus Frost, Tippet and Walker should have been starting IMO, with York replacing Walker, Laughton replacing Frost and Foerster replacing Tippet. These are the only 6 players I would send out there until TK and Drysdale are back.

If you like offense, why are you not playing the team's highest point producing dman in OT?

He was the Flyers top prospect for a while and as always the Flyers oversell their own talent. They are doing it again with Drysdale which the fan base will turn on probably next year.

pass first center = PLAYMAKER the rest of the drivel you posted is a circle jerk of misinformed logic

Because IMO Sanheim is not as effective 3v3, and York, Walker and Drysdale are more skilled offensive defenseman.

Nick Seeler could miss a little bit of time, but I'm told from a source that he does not have any sort of long term injury.

Torts apparently believes defending is more important 3v3 than puck possession and scoring chances. Last year Torts put 2 D out there and said it was to stabilize things and get more puck possession. I believe Torts is 180 degrees off in his approach to 3v3 OT. Torts is an old school guy and thus I bet he hates the 3v3 and hates shootouts even more. I do as well, but I recognize that those extra points in a tight playoff race are crucial. Thus, I believe you put your fastest and most skilled players out there, gain puck possession and make the other team defend.

I had hope they would not keep making the same mistakes as prior regimes but that looks like wishful thinking. Maybe it is only about selling tickets.

But yet, you want to hand this guy the Jack Adams award.

For the record, I couldn't care less who wins the JA award. Why are you so obsessed with him winning it? It's a glorified participation trophy.

He hasn't cost the team. Frost is one of the players that is carrying the team offensively on a team that struggles to score.

If York and Walker are more skilled offensively, why aren't they putting up more points than Sanheim? Do you see how stupid and bereft of any common sense your comments are?

Because he wants to be able to tell a specific poster "I told you so".
