Dolans going to be pissed next draft
, especially after we trade the first round pick lol - fish_hoof
Have to think some trades get done for some picks. Jones Robertson Sykora maybe? These all seem to be guys with now clear path to the big leagues on this team. Not saying they’ll get 2nd rounders for them, but some mid round picks maybe |

Yea it’s pretty easy to replenish picks they’ve traded. Jones and Robertson could both be traded because they re-signed Mackey unless he specifically AHL, but you’d think one of them goes in this trade for a RW. Although I feel like Jones could’ve been traded about a dozen time by now over the last couple years so maybe not. He does have a 6th D chance next year |

I guess TB couldn't swing a sign and trade for him just yet.
Nice to have Stone on LTIR until the playoffs

Rangers could still get Vatrano. Ducks could trade him to a third team and that team could retain 50% and trade him to the Rangers. It's possible, just have to get creative. |

Heard an interview with Vatrano, said he wanted to stay in Anaheim. With another year left on his deal that might just be the company line in case the team doesn't get a substantial enough offer to consummate a deal at the deadline. |

I love Vegas, they go all-in for it every year. It must be awesome to play in that environment knowing that your team will do everything possible to win a cup.
Regarding Stone, he may not even play again this year. He doesn't seem like the kind of guy to fake/exaggerate an injury. If everybody is gonna be up in arms about using his cap space, then we can't complain about using Chytil's.
Just my opinion. |

Get that, but both Tampa and Vegss have done it multiple yrs for same player and both won Cups. Its a bit different than Chytil. Onlybthing GMs have to agree to is giving a limit. 1x only per player, or something like that. |

I think matters if he comes back. If they announced he for sure isn’t coming back for the playoffs I don’t think anyone would care as much. The rangers already announced Chytil isn’t coming back. There is still a chance Stone does, like he did last year |

It's a lacerated spleen, so I'm sure it's a legit, possibly long-term injury that he might not even be cleared by their medical staff to return in time, but the use of the LTIR rule as currently adopted always raises eyebrows. Its seriousness could be a question of degree, but I don't have his medicals so I don't know that. |

I get it, but as of right now Vegas is only a wild card. Losing Stone definitely hurts them. Another injury to someone else could keep them out.
I get it though, the optics aren't great, but as long as the rules are what they are, you might as well take advantage of them. |

Just have the salary cap count in the playoffs, problem solved. |

Pitt is probably begging Vancouver to offer more so they don’t have to send him in the division |

Man that's a risky move... Gonna take a lot to get him, and boy if they don't win it all and can't re-sign him. 😬 |

We can sign him with a goodrow buyout and few other doable things. |

Plus who knows about Chytil. Could have more money next summer if he stays on LTIR. Man would love to get him and lock down and extension |

Do we want Zucker for a 3rd/4th plus a mid-level prospect, or Vatrano for a 1st? |

If its just a 1st, Id go Vatrano. Gotta remember hes not a rental and we get him for one more year next year. |

I don't know enough about Zucker's underlying numbers to really know what to think. My uneducated impression is that he's a slightly younger and faster Wheeler.
I get the fascination with the extra year on a new RW's contract, but personally I'd rather save the space for this offseason to combine it with the cap increase (+goodrow $?) for the opportunity to do some real roster reshaping. Depending on how this playoff run goes, we could feel very differently about running it back with this core come July 1st.. |
