No clue, but that’s a hell of an add. He’s on LTIR so ready for the PO’s. Learned from Tampa! Vegas looking to win it again before they have to make a lot of decisions to make with their UFA’s in the off season. |

The NHL needs to adopt a rule stating that players cannot be activated from the LTIR with <5 games to go in the season. |

Maybe bs rule but every team has the same option. It’s only a few that take advantage of it. Where I take the bigger issue is how Vegas came into the league and were gifted a litany of picks, prospects and NHL talent. They have been a contender since inception. 🤷🏻♂️ |

Yeah they’re my least favorite team. Zero lean years and they’re a powerhouse straight outta the gate. Their fans annoy me too…..most are probably fans of other teams who jumped ship. |

Can’t argue with that. Although you have to give them credit. They have been very aggressive building the team and credit for actually winning it all.

Canes and Tampa are on my list as well because the Islanders could not beat them in the playoffs.

It was the right move. Lou feels he has the players and now the coach so let them prove it.

It’s not the same as a team who has a fire sale and builds. They had been given legitimate players who they flipped for picks. Yes they built a winner but it’s not as hard when you have 642 first rounders to work with. Lol |

The existing owners got greedy for their share of the Vegas entry fee into the League. Vegas probably demanded that teams not be able to protect too many players, so that they could have a team that was immediately competitive.
Any fellow old-timers remember how bad the 1972-73 New York Islanders were? |

Gary Bettman did not want to the team to fail in Vegas. And he made sure it would not. |

I was a little young, but that was what an expansion team should be.
Maybe the Islanders could have made different decisions, but they were hurt in terms of losing players to the Seattle and Vegas expansions.

True but The Kracken did as well. There’s no doubt the latest expansion teams had a nice way to come into the league and build their teams. |

Horvat trade in my opinion was a solid move. AB is on his third team, Who know what the first will turn into and Ratuy is still in the minors.
I do not believe that there was one player the isles could have gotten during this deadline that would have put them over the top. It gives them options now at the draft. I think there will be better options at the draft.
Make the pick, trade back and get more picks, or use it in a trade.
