I was just thinking though, if they are about to send 4 or so assets to Pittsburgh for one player, when they have cap space anyway, why are they also clearing out a lot of depth too? - jimbro83
More than one deal? Maybe they make a trade for a goaltender? Markstrom? |

And that right there is why I hate this move. You have 3 Left wingers, signed with term, and still don't have a (frank)ing right winger. It makes no sense - MeltingPlastic
And....Laf is a true LW as well...and Otthman a LW. No need for Geuntzel |

Another note on Guentzel: There's belief that Carolina - which just cleared a bunch of cap space, has more draft capital than the #NYR and may be more willing to part with young players on its current roster - is putting forth a substantial offer. Could be tough for NYR to beat. - jimbro83

Maybe they shift gears and go after Buchnevich and Parayko. They need a Pesce replacement for next season.... |

They've been too quiet and might be closer to winning a cup than the Rangers. |

he was actually okay in the last stint he had in, but reality is he isn't good enough for this D group full time and he wants to be able to play. They've been trying to find him a home with no luck. |

The good thing about Buch, the obvious, he is a RW, but he is skilled enough to drive play. And that first line needs someone desperately to drive play. |

Special teams is infinitely better though. PK tells me more about a D coach than a player skating lackadaisical. - fourtrax23
We also have the 3rd highest scoring D corp in the league this season. |
