Doesn’t the pick move back to 2026 if the Aves dont finish within the bottom 10 next season? It’s suppose be top 10 protected if the Aves are bad next season. What are the conditions? - roenick97
Top 10 protected means that if the Colorado pick somehow became a top 10 pick in the draft next year, Colorado keeps the pick and it would become a pick in the following year. If the pick is 11-32, Philly keeps it. |

Its fact, not justification! After two years the Flyers have full flexibility with Seeler, so I look at this as a 2 year deal which I am fine with. - jd250
That's fantasy and make believe.

Not contradicting at all. The point that you failed to grasp is that talent and skill is the most important factor. Which is why it was posted before the quality people part. Of course in hockey you need players who will play hard and with intensity. There have been plenty of very talented players who were just pieces of crap such as Zherdev. The issue with the Flyers, and especially Tortorella is that they put culture and standard before skill and talent. Part of why he loves his grinders and they're not even willing apparently to give Johansen a chance. I'm glad I could explain this simple concept to you. Which is what you have to do when someone of your intelligence can't even come up with your own material in regards to your juvenile name calling. - MJL
The culture should come before the skill on a rebuilding team. Going to take a few years to get the skill where we want it. Seems he is getting the culture down pat faster than i thought. We needed the culture in a better spot when we had the skill....ie. Giroux and Jake. You say yourself how awesome jake was, one of the tops in the league, but it didnt get us very far did it.

My understanding is the Flyers could have got Colorado's 2024 1st round pick much easier, but the Flyers valued their 2025 1st round pick, because they wanted two picks next season and the 2025 draft is projected to be a deeper draft, thus the price went up. - jd250
Please share how you came to this conclusion....curious. |

You're trying to somehow justify or let yourself off the hook by pretending due to the NTC, that it somehow turns the contract from 4 years to 2 years. So you don't have to criticize it based on your previous opinion that you only wanted two years for Seeler. That is illogical and simply fantasy. Why does a player like Seeler get any trade protection anyway? - MJL
True, and how does he get 4 years in his 30's as well. Does he share agents with ND?

Well thank you kindly. I’ve never heard of this stipulation in a trade before. I don’t think anyone is expecting this to happen, so I’m assuming we get in just over two years, like the Giroux trade. |

Top 10 or lottery protected? Same thing pretty much. It's quite common...like almost every trade for a first has it attached. |

Teams trading 1st round picks getting top 10 trade protection is a regular occurrence. That is applied for most deals involving a 1st round pick. |

I didn’t know this. The lottery has only been around as long as Crosby has been a Penguin. |

So what's the feeling about a Laughton move?
Will anyone offer a first for him?
Will Danny take less than a first? |

Then even more reason to walk. Seeler is not worth almost $3 per..threatening to want more over a shorter contract is absurd.
This is Nick Freakin Seeler...dime a dozen player in my books.
SO he has his contract and now no more Walker for him...I wasn't expecting the Flyers to resign him the last time, let alone again.
Way too much for a 3rd pairing/ 7th dman. It doesn't matter what spot he plays on the Flyers, can any of us really say with a straight face" Nick Seeler is a top 4 dman!!".
Horrible contract in my opinion.

And the lack of any knowledge is very apparent from you, do you think you understand the top 10 condition now? - ClaudeFather
almost as bad as the didn't know what the flyers brokering a deal meant. |

Maybe but my approach would be to his agent. Your player had a good year but he's 30 and has finally established himself as a full time NHL player. So we'll give you 4 years at 2.7M with no clauses. Take it or leave it. If not, we're going to trade him. Does your player want to stay here.
Disclaimer: Speaking from the Flyers point of view. I would not have offered him 4 years. |
