They're literally just doing it this way this year because they've tried their cautious approach and it hasn't worked yet. Odds are it still doesn't work out for them, but at least they won't go down being the definition of insanity

Kuz is whatever. If he works, great. If he doesn't, well a 3rd rounder isn't a huge deal when you still have all of your top prospects.

I think the Canes would be better off tying to stay in 2nd place. Playing the Flyers/Islanders does not scare me. Neither one of those teams has done anything to improve themselves.

I say this knowing that's not how players play the game, but it would be better for them.

Draft picks the return. If no first rounder, then Drury either is asleep at the switch or Fitzgerald wouldn't deal him across the River or both
